Next flag

Post by cricketfieldclarets » Tue Feb 21, 2017 6:48 pm

Barnes epitomises everything about a Sean Dyche Burnley team. So had to get him in there some time. So thinking something like this one!

Not gone to print yet.

Good idea but I must say, I don't particularly like the font you use. :|

It's a beautiful flag, friend.

Barnes is a force of nature. A phenomenon. He cannot and will not be controlled. When he crosses that line, he damn well means it. He IS the irresistible force. He IS that immovable object. He is absolute carnage, in a big beautiful Burnley shirt.

I'm not keen on the font either but love the rest of it - great choice of image. Barnes is a beast.

I'd be happy to buy one of these flags to have on my office wall. My office is at home so nobody can say it's unprofessional :D

My 2 penneth...

I don't think the 'no one likes us' needs repeating. I'm not sure an image of Barnes locking horns with another player is the most flattering image. I would have thought his celebration after scoring the winner against Palace would be a more suitable image.

Let me know what you want, image, wording, font etc and flag size and we can sort something out.

Got something in the pipeline for future too.

Thanks for suggestions and input so far too. Agree on the repetition of no one likes us.

As for the barnes image. Perhaps not for everyones taste but personally think its brilliant.

Brilliant! Is there some way I can get in touch about this? Email or social media page or something? Thanks :)

Edit - Just thinking about this particular flag. Would it perhaps look better if Simpson was in grey/black and white? Barnes would become even more of the focal point then. Just a thought but not sure how it would look.

Amended the font and removed simpsons name. Think black and whites a good idea but wont necesarily look right.

I think it's better without Simpson's name...good call. Think it also looks better without the text repetition. However the badge looked cool where it was originally. Perhaps the text could go exactly where the 2nd line of 'no one likes us' was and the badge could stay where it was?

Feel free to completely ignore this. I'm no designer but just thought I'd add my two cents :)

As a more 'out there' idea, maybe the text could just be from the film Taken:

I have a very particular set of skills

Haha. Seriously though, it's good as it is.

That badge should be used on the actual shirts. It's much better than what we currently have.

Ive a few more up my sleeve for Barton, Mee and co. Also thinking of an Irish related one for Hendrick, Ward and Brady.

Think the Gray Pride one is a bit close to the bone so to speak.

Then a few specifically related to Burnley and older players. Mindful players come and go these days much easier.

My thoughts as well.

I don't think that the chant should be associated with one player.

My understanding of originally adopting Millwall's chant was because we were a big-ish fish in a small pond, and it was our fans that the others in the small pond did not like.

The image of Barnes scoring the winner against Palace and an Aye Aye Ashley would be good.

The chant isnt associated with one player. More that image resonates with that chant (IMO). I could have one with all the team on but the flag would be top busy and cant find a suitable image.

Anyway, not all flags will be to everyones tastes. Appreciate that.

Totally with IL in post 16. Original badge, blue on Claret was better and at original size. Moving text where he suggests fills the flag.

Fair enough.

I expect to see the Chim Chimney chant lyrics on the Barton one though. :)

I like it, think the font should be instantly readable from a distance though.

Personally, I'd take the photo and the words away and just leave the crest - simpler the better but opinions innit.

Love the pic - could you get Simpson in black and white maybe? To emphasise the Burnley/Barnes a bit more?
