I admire your consistency Tony, but haven't we moved a million miles on from Coyle? I suspect many of the problems down the road would have occurred whoever had managed them.
Good summary though, and an enjoyable read!

He really is a complete charlatan (an incredibly wealthy one at that). Just hope he managed to fleece the venkys before he trotted out of brockhall.

Re: ARTICLE: And another door Coyle’s been shown
Also agree with the sentiment of the article.
It was never about the fact he left. It's how he did it.
Don't think we'll ever know how long he'd been engineering the move before his sudden 'visit to Scotland'.
Certainly while he was still spouting his 'loyalty' bullshit.
I'd personally moved on long before the season ended.
Probably because I believed, even in these cut throat days football has become, Burnley deserved a manager with some integrity.
I'll not forgive how he ripped the heart out of the club mid season like he did though.
Just glad he's been exposed for the ultra limited, one trick pony he is.

Re: ARTICLE: And another door Coyle’s been shown
I did like the line from the statement which read: “The club would like to place on record its thanks to Owen and his staff for all their efforts this season,” and I can confirm that Up the Clarets would also like to place on record its thanks to Owen and his staff for all their efforts this season It’s been great fun and I’m only disappointed that he hasn’t been able to stay to complete the job in taking them to League One.
Hahahahahaha.

Yep, hopefully they're already holed below the waterline.
Burton and Wigan away at Derby and QPR tonight. Let's hope they both pick
something up. If they do and Rovers lose at Burton on Friday, theyll be in big trouble.

I've no bitterness what so ever towards Coyle. He did what he thought was best for his career. Anyone who expects loyalty, honesty and integrity in football is quite frankly living in cloud cuckoo land.
You only have to read some of the crap written on here about Dyche when we happen to be on the wrong side of a scoreline, and managers do get that vibe and when the time is right for Dyche he will say farewell, don't believe all this alignment crap its words..What nobody can do is guarantee whether it will be harmonious or not.

The club has moved on incredibly and we now have a manager who has qualities that Coyle would never understand, they are called honesty, respect and integrity. Dyche will leave at some stage, undoubtedly, but if it is his choice then he won't do it in the underhand way Coyle did.KeighleyClaret wrote:I won't forgive or forget what he did either Tony but I meant that the club had moved on, and he is an irrelevance now.

With all these doors he keeps being shown he should be quite an expert on them now. Perhaps it's time to give up football altogether and maybe get a job with Howden Joinery or some other door manufacturer.

The guys a consistent failure. Karma is a wonderful thing, we saved him from the boot at St.Johnstone, Bolton saved us from sinking into oblivion. Since then he's made a lot of money failing badly. Just hope he's done enough to the horse botherers for them to trot down to League 1

I'm glad you can be so sure CT. What I am sure about is if results take a turn for the worse in the not to distant future and the board stay "loyal" to Dyche he will be subjected to the same crap Casper Mullen and Laws were subjected to. All of the above were articulate polite loyal honest men btw. And Sean Dyche knows this more than anybody.ClaretTony wrote:The club has moved on incredibly and we now have a manager who has qualities that Coyle would never understand, they are called honesty, respect and integrity. Re: ARTICLE: And another door Coyle’s been shown
My Grandad loved Coyle, I think he'd forgiven him after having a chat with him at the Reebok when watching my brother play. That's enough for me, I understand fans who hate him but I can't, he started it all off and brought me the best season following Burnley I will probably have (first promotion probably the most special). I understand there's no loyalty these days, managers/players look for the best financial package and it's understandable, it's a job.

Can't hate or despise anyone who was responsible for such an incredibly exciting and enjoyable season.
I've enjoyed his fall from grace since as much as anyone but thankfully his excellent period as a manager was with us.

We can certainly agree on that. I cannot imagine a man with the personal qualities of Sean Dyche will behave in anything other than an exemplary manner when it comes time to leave, nor afterwards.ClaretTony wrote:The club has moved on incredibly and we now have a manager who has qualities that Coyle would never understand, they are called honesty, respect and integrity. I'm absolutely certain - Dyche is not Coyle, simple as that. He will leave, but he'll never go behind backs as Coyle did and he certainly wouldn't lie as Coyle did.RocketLawnChair wrote:I'm glad you can be so sure CT. Re: ARTICLE: And another door Coyle’s been shown
KRBFC..assuming you are not old enough to remember the glorious 1992 promotion I'm still surprised that you rate 08-09 as your favourite season. For me the first promotion under Dyche was much more enjoyable involving automatic promotion (totally out of the blue) and the birth of our relentless consistency. We were like a juggernaut that season with Ings and Vokes up top and Trips providing an endless stream of top-quality assists. The Coyle promotion was superb in it's own (Reading/Wembley) way but there were too many defeats and too much inconsistency for it to be the best.
This is not written in the spirit of kicking a man when he is down,,,,08-09 was great, just don't see it as the best.
Anyway.....there has been so much schadenfreude in observing Coyle's Partidgesque decline that I genuinely now cannot think what further twist would enhance the tale. This does feel like the natural end and he should now leave football and disappear.

I understand your sentiments. Things were great under Coyle, for a while but, the way in which he left us cannot be forgiven.Bordeauxclaret wrote:Can't hate or despise anyone who was responsible for such an incredibly exciting and enjoyable season.

One day, the truth will out but, I do believe that he has caused his own demise (professionally, if not financially).
For me, he will always be a Judas, not just a naughty boy !!!

I think the fact 09 was the first promotion (for me) made it special, add in the cup run, I missed Chelsea away but Spurs away was incredible. Then the drama of the playoffs, then the style of football was fantastic IMO. There's no doubt we were a better side under Dyche with better players but the way the group pulled together in 09 was special and the drama packed season that nobody at all expected. The atmosphere at games under Coyle was much better too, I just preferred the first one, each to their own
