Pleased that Johann's injury isn't as serious as I thought it may be when I saw him limp past me on crutches last Saturday, let's hope that he does recover quickly.
I do like Sean's comment that it was not a great challenge ....... I await Arsene's reaction if any of his players are on the end of a similar challenge or one of Rhead's harmless head removers such as Joey received in the first minutes of the game. Should be interesting to say the least.

If Lincoln play like that at Arsenal they won't end the game with many players left on pitch. Arsenal players will be writhing round in agony at the slightest touch.

My wife has just had the exact same injury playing sport (strain on medial knee ligament) and the physio has said a month. My bet with JBG and the treatment he will receive is that it will be 3 weeks until he is considered again, all guesswork but I doubt he will be playing major parts in our crucial away run coming up.

I also like his comments on Joey.

He said: "In the cold light of day, I was amazed Rhead was still on the pitch. I don’t want to open old wounds, and it is by the by, but the moment of truth was early in the game.

"99 times out of 100, in the Premier League, the referee is under pressure to deal with that."

Not much creativity in the side for Saturday.

January signings are looking good now - without Brady, Westwood and Barton we'd be threadbare this weekend.

That's what transfer windows are for - at least Marney got injured this time just before it closed rather than a few day later.

The big plus is that Lowton, Mee, Ward Brady & Barnes will all be back.

Agreed CT but didn't Marney get injured on Boxing Day/New Years Day at Newcastle last time?

Was it not against West Brom on 8 February? The window had closed the previous week and I think it was our first match after that.
Shackell and Long both got injured at Newcastle in the 3-3 draw.

Great news about Gudmundsson , really worried it was another bad knee injury, and due to their known thug in midfield.

Its scandalous that so much was focused on a bit of gamesmanship from Joey whilst none of their thuggery was highlighted, is it any wonder clubs rest players for these type of matches when the risk of serious injury is higher than a premier league game.

When people get on board with the story, the rule book seems to go out the window.

No. He came off sick. He got injured at home against W. Brom after being fouled. It was early Feb. Long got injured at Newcastle.

Watching the challenge on JBG I was screaming for a red card and having seen it several times since I feel exactly the same way. The ref lost control of the game IMHO.

That's a pretty good midfield 4 that we have missing this Saturday.

Gudmundsson Defour Marney Hendrick

In the grand scheme of things with the personnel unavailable a hard fought draw wouldn't be the end of world on Saturday.

Why? Has Barton been ruled out?

The groundman will have his work cut out looking at the state of the pitch after Catalan won the Super League match at Hull tonight, was a bit of a soggy mess at the end.
