Had the privilege of speaking with the great Les Latcham during the weak. He reckons we should be using the width of the pitch instead of playing it down the middle all the time. Perhaps Sean thinks the same.

Maybe Boyd can swap his skates for Grosicki's shoes ;)

Grosicki reminded me of Kightly today. Direct, fairly quick and threatening, but his end product was a bit inconsistent today. Boyd had a really good first half and dug in after the break. He was certainly much better than Brady, who showed he's still very unfamiliar with our system.

Very unlucky with a right foot curler towards the top corner and also came close with a free kick. He was quick and seemed equally happy to go down the line on his left foot as he did cutting in on his right foot which will keep defenders guessing. Looks like he would have been a good signing but I think Brady will prove equally useful when he beds in.

you can see with Brady though that when he settles in and finds form he will be a massive asset for us

Was their 2nd best player behind Maguire.

Will tear up the championship should they go down.

There were a few occasions where Brady failed to track back / follow his man. He needs to add this into his game quickly, but I've no doubt he will.

His deliveries were pretty inconsistent on the whole but still got an assist. He will be a good player for us, once he settles in.

Funny that, I was saying to Whentheballmoves on the train up that Grosicki reminded me of a Kightly upgrade.

After the game, I felt he hadn't done anything to worry us apart from one chance that he curled over.

Whereas Brady got an assist and set up the corner prior to it too - as you rightly say, before he is fully used to us.

I think we have made the correct choice.

Haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but if the refs showed an consistency, Going of the Hendrick sending off Boyd should have been sent off today.

I've only seen the tackle once on replay but it looked to me he played the ball too. It looked similar to Lafferty's red card against Arsenal under Coyle where his foot bounced up off the top of the ball

Burnley fans booed a player who wanted to sign for us , the board decided against it so he got his premier league move to hull, well done

Interesting how we think Brady will be OK when he gets used to our system and tracks back a bit better. I didn't see Grosiki do much tracking back at all today.

Looked a real threat going forwards. Definitely not a Dyche type player though.

He has a weird head/face. Like some kind of mad professor. Looks about 40 aswel.

He's not a defensive wide midfielder though. He's there to do a job and that's to attack, attack, attack. He's exactly the sort of player we needed, hence why we went for him. He doesn't need to tackle if played in the correct system.

I watched on a stream at first it didn't look a foul but the replay showed it should have been a red card, 100% worse than the Hendrick one.

I watched on stream as well. Boyd clearly took the ball, then his foot bounced up and hit Maguire. No intent at all. Hendrick took the player with no contact with the ball.

He made contact with the ball but went over the ball with studs up, a leg breaker of a tackle regardless of intent.
