Palace have the entire top 6 still to play. 4 away. Looks daunting.

Sunderland playing anyone looks daunting though.

Most of the teams have at least 3 or 4 games , in some cases more
against teams in the bottom 5 or 6 which makes them so called six pointers
not to mention at least three games (or more) against those in the top six.

Given that it would seem almost logistically impossible for three or four teams to get
much more than say another 16/17 points and it might be that at least 3 of them will struggle to get more
than 14/15 points.

That does make it more than likely that 37/38 points will be enough to stay up
which means we would need another 7 or 8 points.

That sounds pretty comforting to me especially if we can manage to avoid
too many defeats in our away games to those beneath us.

The bottom 6 are all averaging under a point per game. I can't see 4 of them bettering that, with matches against those fighting for Europe and the 6pointers.
IMHO 5 points will see us safe.

It would actually need 5 of them to better us! Which makes it even more unlikely!

I went through each fixture and predicted with optimismfl for each club, only swansea and bournmouth get more than 35 points, so wirh our superior goal difference 5 more points will do it

Watching how guttless Leicester were again yesterday, really can see them going down.

Did the predictor today for the remaining fixtures, did some very conservative predictions for us and had us finishing 10th on 42 points

Then I did a really pessimistic predictor where we got 36 points. We still stayed up.

Looking at the fixtures, palace and Sunderland should be the bottom 2, then it's a shootout between Hull,Leicester and Boro. Think Boro will be relegated as they are too negative and don't get enough wins.

However there a lot of 6 pointers coming up, so all to play for

Sunderland are a certainty to go down.
I also think Boro will go for a number of reasons.They don't score enough goals, and more importantly don't create enough chances Too negative by far. That stems from Karanka, and he is likely to implode shortly. I actually think he will resign, before the end of the season, because he is so egotistical, he won't want a relegation stamp on his CV
Would like to see either BFS or overrated Eddie go down with the two North East Clubs,but if I had to bet it would be Leicester

II wouldnt write sunderland off yet. They escape every year. While they seem to lose every week they area actually only a win from safety positions. They have what they need too - a very good, premier league quality striker.

That's true, but like Palace, their defence isn't really PL quality (Kone aside), and that could be their downfall.

Plus they have a more miserable version of the grim reaper in charge!

I think they'll all be hoping they're well out of it by then.

13 games to go, lot of water to pass under the bridge. The teams with momentum and desire will win through.

20- Sunderland - that will really hurt with Newcastle as their replacement.
19- Hull- cannot see all 3 promoted teams surviving, they never do, and just too many key injuries.
18- Leicester - 2 years ago in a worse situation they survived but they had a togetherness/determination which is now missing. Their manager looks lost.

Hull have played well recently, but didn't we have a similar tough run of fixtures in 14/15 where we took a unexpected point at Chelsea and beat Man City. Obviously we still went down. I just don't think you can point at any game in this league and say that guarantees 3 points no matter what you've done in the fixtures leading up to it. Points on the board everyday of week for me

given the away games we have to play it is in our own hands. Also given the lead we now have we are not desperate to win, draws will do.

They spent most of the 2nd half of last season posting about us on FB daily.
They started this season in a similar vein of form on FB, with daily posts about us.

Now it's being handed back to them in spades they don't like it and are running around calling us obsessed, despite us proving they started it

They've changed their tune and are stating they're more bothered about survival then they are about being above us.

With West Brom away, Spurs at home and Chelsea and Arsenal away in the following 6 games points will be hard to come by and by that time they'll be deep into it. If he goes he'll still be able to say that he doesn't have a relegation on his CV.

I can't see Sunderland escaping, I'd be more confident that Moyes would stick it out but I think he's getting used to looking like a spanked dog.

For me it'll be hangbags between Bournemouth and Boro for that last spot in a competition between Kranky's team who've forgotten how to score and Eddie's boys who've forgotten how to defend.

I think that too. When I see Clement at Swansea I see a bloke who only has to rollock people once, I don't get that from Ranieri or Moyes.

I have it at Sunderland and Palace gone before the final day and the last relegation spot between Leicester/Boro/Hull with the Foxes needing to beat Bournmouth.

The trouble with predictions based on the run-in fixtures are that they assume that they are all full-on competitive games. It doesn't always work like that.

For instance if Stoke, Wbrom and Everton get mathematical safety soon, but can't get near European qualification they may just experiment, play fringe players or just take their feet off the gas. Similarly if Chelsea continue to run away with it, will they start planning for next season?

I doubt that our manager will let it happen but maybe if we continue to get results and reach safety will it still be fortress Turf Moor? Especially if our leader on the pitch takes an enforced early holiday.

It's not the remaining fixtures that are critical it's the order In which they are played that will prove decisive.

Ignore the other teams and predict BFC results, I come up with a conservative 42 which shoull see us safe. We had 30 with Coyle/Laws which we already have now. Every point counts.

Its a shame that 4 teams can't get relegated.

Sunderland because it's their turn, Leicester because they have sacked Ranieri, Middlesbrough ( don't need to ask) and Hull because their owners deserve it.

Yes, but the league has taken shape with results starting to go according to current league position.

The bottom sevens games against each other will be the ones that determine their destiny more likely than not.
