SS-GB

Post by Cirrus_Minor » Sun Feb 26, 2017 10:16 pm

Just finished watching the second episode of SS-GB. I am usually like these type of drama's but this is very disappointing. Maybe it's just me.

Is it still setting the scene?

The book is quite good if I remember rightly.

Maybe is still setting the scene but some of the character acting is a bit wooden and the storyline is starting to become a bit on the contrived side. But I will stick with it.

Remember reading the book some years ago.

Disappointing adaption for TV.

BBC mumbling again....

If you want a book on this subject, I'd go for "And All The King's Men", by Gordon Stevens. I don't think they've ever made a film/TV series of it.

Got about halfway through tonight's episode and had to stop watching it. Not for me I'm afraid.

A bit plodding.

Needs more bloodshed and gore.

Think the book will be better. The series makes light of what a sinister regime this was. As said above some of the acting is not convincing. A book I have just read in a similar topic is Fatherland which was very good.

First episode so slow I thought I wouldn't bother anymore, anyway I ended up watching it last night, a little better but not as good as I expected. I'm a little deaf anyway so had the subtitles on.
