Our away matches question .

Post by Wile E Coyote » Mon Feb 27, 2017 10:30 am

Just curious to know if any other team has had to endure such a lengthy run of away fixtures as we are now.
I cannot recall such a gap between home matches as the one we are experiencing, seems more than a little harsh somehow.

Its because we swapped the Liverpool fixture round. Arguably has worked to our advantage.

To be fair, it's already worked given we got the three points against Liverpool on the Turf.

And even better news after our creditable draw at Hull we now only have 3 away games in a row if we look at it that way. One game at a time I suppose is the best way to look at it?

Has any other team stayed up in the prem without ever winning away?

Twice - leeds in 1993 and Coventry in 2000

The other sides that didn't win a game all season were all relegated - Wolves (2004), Norwich (2005), Derby (2009) and Hull (2010).

However, none of the clubs mentioned had the same home form that we've had this season.

The sticky looking run beginning with Chelsea followed by 4 aways then Spurs has started extremely well. Six 1-1s would be very nice. Who knows?
