We were team-mates quite a bit later too, but then that was when we ruled the roost in East Lancashire in the pop quiz world.

Ormerod Street United back in 1958 (?) in Accrington Boys League when the league first started -- cracking team and never seen anybody since leaving school in 1964!

Played for Nelson Stanley U'16's in the Craven League 73/74 undefeated, won the cup (at Grasmere I think) too. Also played for Stans mates team Woodburn Rangers in the Nelson and Colne Leagues they were run by Martin the Irish chap. Stan and Martin were top footballing blokes. Happy days, sadly don't remember too many names but we scored goals for fun.

Yeah cracking memories, still abroad, I'm living in East Ukraine a few hundred miles from the Russian border.

Do you still get on the Turf? 7 wins and 1 draw from 8 was great going. I suppose something had to give eventually so we ended up dropping two points against Chelsea. ;)

Did you go to the Lincoln game?
Yeh unfortunately witnessed the Lincoln game.
See your mum and dad all the time, they told me you were in Ukraine last time we spoke
Get in touch pal if you visit Blighty.

Made the rare wins even better though. Loved beating Bradford Park Avenue at home especially.

Can't say I miss playing at Boothtown in the snow or on Greetland's hill. Or Illingworth.

There were a few of us from Teds that all played Sunday league together through the school years during early 80s, started at St Veronica's in Haslingden playing mostly over Ramsbottom and Bury way. Then played at Padiham, and Higham, had some cracking games against the likes of Highfield, Brierfield and Barrowford Celtic.

Will do, Tinribs. If you're on facebook then send a friend request. I've got a few of the Accy clarets on there. :D

Thanks for the news and enjoy the season.
