Tonights footy
BIG game for Rovers tonight v Yearly bottlers
I'm watching Brighton v Newcastle, expecting a Brighton win as I don't see anyone stopping them this season

Notice Freddie Ulvestad is on the bench for Charlton, unless he's coming back from an injury hes obviously not pulling up any trees for them which is disappointing. O'Neil starts for Oldham again tonight

other way around, never a pen, free kick to Newcastle imho, Murray was all over the Newcastle lad. If that's a pen then we should get 5 a game

Long starts for Bolton,
Whitmore for Morecambe
Ginnelly for Lincoln!

Just said on commentary BHA have 4 players over 10 goals already: Murray,Hemed, Baldock and Knockaert. None of them are PL players.

yep, as much as i dislike Brighton "fans" I'd rather them come up than Newcastle, I can see Newcastle under Benitez buying a whole new team - doubt Brighton could afford to do that

Re: Tonights footy
I think Knockaert could step up if I'm honest, however Murray has been there and flopped, and I haven't seen anything from Hemed and Baldock that suggests they should be there. They have a real defensive stubborness and their midfield is full of creativity, especially at Championship level. I think they could be OK with a couple of additions up front to be fair.minnieclaret wrote:Just said on commentary BHA have 4 players over 10 goals already: Murray,Hemed, Baldock and Knockaert. Looks like R*vers are going to sneak out of relegation due to there being at least three teams worse than they are.

Rovers front two are way better than anything any of those around them have. If Mowbray can sort their defence out they could end up well clear tbh, damn you agent Coyle

Oh dear! Poor old Seaduds.
They just don't realise that you've got to defend for the full match against the rivals for the title.

They're possibly more irritating then Leeds who claim they sell out every away game, best fans in the league etc.

Re: Tonights footy
Rovers will stay up no doubt about that but the rot of a downward spiral has well and truly set in.
I'd rather see them suffer another **** season next year in the Championship than a decent one in Div 1.

Another win for Oldham. 14 points from 7 since our Aiden joined them. They had 25 points from 28 games and were in the bottom 4 at the end of January.

Re: Tonights footy
According to some fans on FB this summer they apparently need to sell over half the squad and invest some serious money into it.claptrappers_union wrote:What is it with Derby.... why are they so rubbish year after year?
I've pointed out that they have invested serious money into it, but maybe it's the managers they're recruiting that are the problem.
I've even suggested they sell Will Hughes, as he possibly isn't the midfield talisman they seem to think/hope he is.
I finished off by thanking them for Hendrick who seems to be settling well at our place, because I remember the **** taking that went on when we signed him.

Re: Tonights footy
Derby have plenty of talent, but they've no metal which you absolutely need in the championship. We had games last year where the opposition played the better football but we ground out a result. Our 2-2 draw away at Brighton for example, there's just no way a Derby team are walking away with a point in the same scenario. Even when we trounced them at the turf last year they played some lovely stuff, but there's no solid foundation - if it doesn't click perfectly into place they're getting beat.

Re: Tonights footy
I watched the BHA v Newcastle match. I thought Newcastle just about deserved the 3 pts, but what must concern Brighton is how nervous they looked in the last 20 minutes .
After last season near miss could BHA be another Derby and implode at the last hurdle, and then leave the way open for Huddersfield to grab 2nd spot
In division 1. Both Bury and Oldham are now picking up points and pulling away from the drop zone

Re: Tonights footy
Derby's biggest mistake was loaning our Chris Martin. They really miss him, Ashley Barnes type player who you love if he plays for you and loathe if he plays for the opposition.
Maybe McLaren is trying to play beautiful football. Unfortunatley for him you need the Bartons, Barnes and Martin type players to give you that bit of grit which is what Derby seem to lack at present. I don't mind Derby but not shedding any tears for Shackell and his dream move

Re: Tonights footy
OK Given up trying to find new topic
So NEW TOPIC
Been reading about Daniel Agyei and whilst impressed with what I have seen and read bit worried that Andrei is teaching him how to run in behind defenders and that Barnes is teaching him hold up play and winning free kicks, so does that men by the time we start playing him he will be offside for 2/3rds of the game and the other 3rd he will be performing hold ups on players and getting free kicks for the opposition ???

Re: Tonights footy
Ginnelly set up Lincoln's goal last night.
Oldham are doing very well since O'Neill went there.
I think Whitmore is virtually ever-present for Morecambe
Long, as stated got two yellows.
Good to see these lads getting games, albeit at League 1 down.
