Definitely some time ago because the third first team pitch hasn't even had the desso installed.

Will the 2 pitches and buildings across the river from the new complex still be used? Mainly regarding the buildings, if so, what for. The players car park is also there at the moment.
Might free up quite a lot of space.

There will be an update from the club about the new facility this week. Players are expected to move in during the next international break.

It's so Andre can practice his first touch.
He needs to control he ball and stop it before it goes over the edge
We've already put in an order to Nike for some more balls

Re: Barnfield Training Complex
Let's publish a video about our brand new, brilliant training facilities to the 2,000 player subscribers we have rather than aim the good new stories at the literally millions of people who watch football videos on YouTube daily.eastcoastclaret wrote:A new Turf More is now online with look inside new training facility.
Seriously, it's time the club scrapped Clarets Player. Not the commentary element and things like that but we have millions of pounds at the club now. Invest in some people who want to move the club on online and deliver some excellent content to all fans.

Let's scrap season tickets so that all fans have a chance to sit on the half way line in the Longside upper. We don't need the (early) money'
Let's scrap loyalty points so that all fans have a chance to get tickets at away games when they choose to.
I'm all for what you're saying but let's spend a few years in this division before we scrap Clarets Player eh?
It would be difficult, say in four or five seasons when we're in the Championship and getting on to being potless again, to stop putting things online and then to ask fans to start paying for Clarets Player again because the club needs the money.

Just watched Turf More.
It really is impressive, and makes you feel proud of not only how far we've come, but how far we can go. Brilliant.

Yes it certainly is impressive. I just hope that the players don't get too comfortable because there's nowt wrong with changing in a portacabin.

I still have a vision of Dyche being on that balcony dressed as a Roman Emperor, and giving it a thumb up or down to his Gladiators.

2. Nowhere near the same
3. Fair. But it's £100,000. It'll be years before we are about that plus we're staying up this year.
Hope there's changes next year. Concept of Turf More is excellent and the bits I've seen are okay but with a proper presenter, a regular schedule and a variety of guests it could be brilliant. Just think we can do more.

Re: Barnfield Training Complex
FWIW - the new complex looks fantastic for a club our size and the people at the top should be commended for such an investment.

Re: Barnfield Training Complex
You say nowhere near the same MDWat, but imagine a fan who can't get to the matches and still feels he/she wants to contribute to the club. It's the same.
I thought we'd stay up before a ball was kicked this season, but there's no guarantee where we will be in four or five years time.
We can do more, and changes will come if we keep on doing more on the pitch.

Re: Barnfield Training Complex
There is a much bigger opportunity online than income from Clarets Player. I agree with MDWat, we should be more digital savvy.

Re: Barnfield Training Complex
I've no need for the commentary so don't feel it's beneficial to subscribe to ClaretsPlayer
Why can't the videos be available to all and you pay if you want the commentary?

The Turf More video on Claretsplayer is excellent. I agree it made me very proud of how far we've come and the training ground looks fantastic. What a time to be part of our great football club!

Re: Barnfield Training Complex
I actually think there should be a benefit to season ticket holders for Clarets Player. That would be a fantastic selling point to have that as part of your annual £400-500 payment, considering we used to get free access to Reserve Games which aren't now available at the Turf for us.
What does it cost, £40/year?
That would likely quadruple the current audience (if 2,000 is the current figure?), increase advertising revenue because of a bigger client base, and also encourage more to subscribe via word of mouth.
The new training facility looks fab by the way.

Re: Barnfield Training Complex
A paid content site is a little shortsighted and small time these days. Considering we are 1/20 of a global marketing machine (admittedly a much less appealing / fashionable one of the twenty) we need to be tapping into this as much as is possible.
It was mentioned earlier this season about the webo and / or Ren Ren logos being shown on the interview boards and our need to try to tap into this larger market. A paid player site just won't do that, as far as I can see.
Free at the point of entry with advertising revenue is surely the way forward and some good content (expanding on the great items already out there) would benefit more 'all weather' Burnley fans and potentially bring in much more revenue and even a few new fans.
Make hay while the sun shines.

Re: Barnfield Training Complex
It's an interesting argument.
Currently Clarets player has several things:
- Commentary
- Match highlights
- unique videos such as Turf More, player interviews.
For the commentary and highlights surely there are broadcasting rights issues to be considered?
For the unique stuff it could certainly be subsidised by adding advertising but internet advertising pays buttons and they'd really need to find a sponsor for the content to make it worthwhile.
