Metatarsal Injury

Post by halfmanhalfbiscuit » Thu Mar 02, 2017 3:32 pm

I remember a few years back the metatarsal injury was very popular. At the time there was some talk about it becoming more frequent due to changes in boots.
It appears to have gone out of fashion a bit.

I saw last week that someone had suffered a metatarsal injury but they are certainly not as common as they were a decade or so ago.

What seemed to be the most common injury in the 60/70s was the cartilage injury on the knee joint, hardly ever hear of that one any more.

Gone out of fashion - guess you missed Man City's Gabriel Jesus busting his metatarsal 2 weeks ago then !

I knew I'd seen reference to one - that's the one.

In the 80s it was the hamstring and they started wearing lycras under their shorts.
For us recently it's been ACLs.
The cartilage could be career ending, back in the 60s. Now with keyhole surgery they are barely missed.
Funny how injuries go in cycles though.
