Alone.
I like to watch random tv shows and waste my Sunday afternoons away.
Past few weeks I have been watching a programme called "Alone" which is where 10 survival experts are dropped off in a remote location with basic items and left to fend for themselves. Whichever expert lasts the longest wins a large sum of money.
The first 2 seasons the participants were dropped off on Vancouver Island and the 3rd season they were left in Patagonia.
..........
Also been watching the new season of Hunted (the american one) after watching the 2 UK seasons. Another brilliant show IMO.
Anybody seen these shows or know of any others which are similar for me to watch next?

Re: Alone.
Hunting Chris Ryan!
They just made 3 episodes where......
"In each of a series of three programmes, former SAS soldier, Chris Ryan, is dropped into one of the world's most extreme environments, in which he has to survive, complete a mission and finally escape to a rendezvous point, whilst evading capture by a 4 man "Hunter" force, comprised of former US and UK Special Forces soldiers."
He has almost no kit, had to use what he found and the hunter force had all the toys and dogs, motorbikes etc and he kicked their arses!

Slightly left of field, the 'Primitive Technology' YouTube channel is fascinating. It's much calmer than advertiser-funded TV shows, mind.

Mantracker. Last series 2012. Crops up on the obscure channels, now and again.

Haha. I just thought the exact same thing. Sounded great and I thought I might watch that. Then spoilt it.bfccrazy wrote:

Thing is guys, it`s well worth a watch regardless, it`s how he does it that`s the brilliance of it. And it shows the difference between the American "BIG MAN BIG MOUTH" special forces (Special needs more like) and the best of the best.

Mantracker. Made-in-Canada dross. If they really wanted to find the 'prey', they would have just followed the guys holding the cameras. More unreal reality TV, just like Duck Dynasty and The Bachelor.

Re: Alone.
Alone spooks me out, however. The winner usually takes 3 months to win. The only thing worse would be 3 months spent with Saxoman or Imploding Turtle.

The rain. Always the rain. Vancouver Island is a cold rainforest.
Re: Alone.
I have relations living in Courtney on Vancouver Island.
My Uncle emigrated there back in about 1930 when he was about 17.
No longer with us of course but his descendants are still living there.
Used to say that their time on Vancouver Island was spent Huntin' n a Shootin' n a Fishin'

Re: Alone.
I think that both would end up burning down their shelters. Turtle would probably jump into the ocean and try to catch fish with his bare hands.

Re: Alone.
mkmel. There used to be one of the great railway rides that went through Courtney called the Esquimalt & Nanaimo. It was primarily built to service the lumber industry, but they also had a daily 'Budd Car' for passengers. With the size of lumber trucks today, I think it's cheaper to ship via roads.

I've got relatives a bit further south, in Duncan. Looks a bit less wild down there.mkmel wrote:I have relations living in Courtney on Vancouver Island.

Re: Alone.
Saxo would probably swim off to a better island when it started getting tough then the whole series would be him saying how much better than Burnley the first was.Right_winger wrote:If saxoman and Imploding Turtle were Alone, what would happen? And who would "win" ?
Imploding Turtle would just starve to death just to show the stupidity of the show.

Re: Alone.
Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is probably the most British place in the world, including Britain, and it's on the Island. There's a hotel there (I forget what it's called), where they serve a formal tea at exactly 4 o'clock every day on the hotel porch, overlooking the harbour. Even Queen Victoria would be impressed, methinks.

I think that IT and Saxo are already "alone", both in their own ways.

I'd spend the whole time either naked, swearing or praising ISIS so that nothing could be aired.

Why not all three at once? Top ratings would be assured.
