The Walled Off Hotel - Art Related..

Post by hawxi » Fri Mar 03, 2017 1:23 pm

From the previous Art related post it seems there are quite a few art lovers on here.. My love is urban art..

The guy never ceases to amaze me.. 14 months in the planning, opens a hotel in one of the most hostile / political hot spots in the world.. ( even the name of the hotel is a great play on words )..and no prior leak of it - even with todays social media.

Apologies for people with minimal interest in this..but i cant tell you how much this artist is at another level to any other artist out there today... politically, art concepts and the art work he produces

Mixing art and political commentary. What's not to like.

But, can you get a room on 25 Dec?

Much better than the ''teabags on radiator'' installation I saw earlier in the week.

brilliant play on words, linking it's physical situation with a play on a famous hotel brand, in a "bangkok hilton" kinda way - and that he was into walls long before Trump.....

The Keirby's got the best view in Burnley. It's the only view where you can't see the Keirby! ;)

Whenever I hear the words Keirby Hotel, I hear the Crossroads music. Weird?

This is why I love art. You can have a pensioner painting for fun as a hobby, to someone risking there life to make a political statement through their art, and everything in between. There are no rules, it's fantastic isn't it?
