Re: Last minute goals
The usual result of continually giving the ball away, and sitting further and further back, is a last minute goal.

Re: Last minute goals
Maybe not last minute but I think we've scored more late goals than conceded.

We're always better when we're chasing a game at that stage rather than trying to see it out.

Re: Last minute goals
Maybe, my question was a genuine one. I've lost count of the amount of times we've conceded at the end of either halfClaretTony wrote:Maybe not last minute but I think we've scored more late goals than conceded.

Arsenal x 2, Hull, Lincoln, Swansea.
On the plus side we've got them against Palace and Everton

The 2 points lost against Arsenal, the 2 against Hull and the one today would have been enough to guarantee us survival. Criminal that it's happened so often.

But then again, we gained four points from Palace and Everton, so it evens itself out somewhat.

And don't forget that Leicester scored their first (away) in added time at the end of the first half and Watford scored what turned out to be the winner exactly the same.

Re: Last minute goals
As I said somewhere else, every club does it sometimes. Yes, both Palace and Everton did it against us. But I bet they've only done it once! Not every other bloody week!

We seem to be making being the fly into an art form and really it's not!!Lord Beamish wrote:Sometimes you're the windscreen, sometimes you're the fly.

Re: Last minute goals
We seem to be equally as adept at scoring late goals as conceding them this time 'round.Dark Cloud wrote:We seem to be making being the fly into an art form and really it's not!!
Re: Last minute goals
We also got the winner against Leicester 3 mins from time

Re: Last minute goals
Tbh, I'm thinking more about added on time rather than the 90 minutes. Palace and Everton are pluses in added time, but there are an awful lot of minuses. Including half time goals too.

Re: Last minute goals
As above when you give away the ball as much as we do playing away from home then no surprise we concede late goals. Out away record at the top level is appalling.
