I hate to bet on Burnley winning games and do so very rarely. In fact I try and avoid any bets involving the Clarets.
However, today I was confident of a Swansea win and reluctantly included them in my weekly £2.50 treble for the result and both teams to score.
Am I a bad person for celebrating the fact that the 90th minute winner gave me £145?

You are a very naughty boy but put your detailed knowledge of Burnley to profitable ends. I guess we call this capitalism and market economics.

Sounds very shrewd to me. Eases the pain of an away defeat

I put a large bet on us not being promoted last season. Knowing the average IQ of people on here, I won't tell you what that was... but I was happy to lose!

It's preferable you win when not involving a defeat for the Clarets!

"Am I a bad person?"
You're a burnley fan.
Therefore you are a good person.

My most disgruntled Burnley goal celebration came at the Ethiad a few seasons ago when I'd backed City to beat us 3-2 and that idiot - I think it was Chris MacCaan - went and ruined everything with a late late equaliser....over 200 bloody quid Chris, thanks mate.

No amount of money would allow me to celebrate a Clarets loss.

I couldn't bring myself to celebrate being on the wrong end of an injury time winning goal.
Certainly not for 145 quid anyway

I stuck a fiver on another goal in the last five minutes as I always do if we're winning or drawing, that way if the opposition do score, at least I get roughly £30,in return.

Nowt wrong with the bet...but celebrating the defeat means you are not a Burnley supporter. I'm guessing you wanted to hear that given your need to create a thread about it.

BLOOD MONEY.
You should give half to charity as penance (and your soul will still not be pure).

Just in case anybody is interested. I am trying to make it a treble of victories. I have Spurs, Athletico Madrid, Ajax and Feyenoord to return about £480 on a fiver (Result and BTTS).

With that amount you'll have a choice of where you want to sit at Ewood all next season.

So, you are a Burnley fan and, of course, want Burnley to win. But, you place a bet on the opposite result. It's called a hedge: happy with win, bet pays out if Burnley don't win.
I wonder with the melt down we see on this board after a defeat whether people have been doubling up: want Burnley to win and bet on Burnley winning - they've lost twice. Or, are the one's who say "no worries" the same ones that have bet against Burnley winning?

It's fans like you who contributes to the bad results we have away from home...The lack of belief from a large group of people, will sooner or later reach the players on the field, also making them loos confidence and belief..Betting against your own team don't make you a bad person, just a person making a bad choice...
