Re: John Surtees RIP
What a man of speed and courage, a real sporting hero in my humble opinion; they sure don't make em like this now.
Rest in Peace John Surtees, you brought much pleasure to so many in the motor sports world.

Often the word Legend is used too freely, not in this case

You either have to be an old git like me or interested in motorsports history to know about John Surtees. He is the only man to have competed successfully in both F1 and bikes (that I'm aware of).
A true legend.

Re: John Surtees RIP
An absolute legend in motorsport. World Champion on 2 and 4 wheels,a feat that will never be equalled. I saw him in June last year in the paddock at Goodwood FOS, driving a Lola down to the start line for a run up the hill. An old school racer and an absolute gentleman. RIP John

Agree wholeheartedly with the "legend" statement. A phenomenon in the motor sports world. An absolute true great.
To win both the 500gp motorcycle class, then win the car gp world title was an achievement we will NEVER see again.
RIP Sir John Surtees. A man truly worthy of the title "knight of the realm"

Definitely one of the true greats like Stirling Moss.
