Labour's "champagne socialist" tag. The latest!

Post by RingoMcCartney » Sun Mar 12, 2017 12:12 am

Top Labour officials have gathered, to finally throw off accusations of a ivory towered, kept in, blissfully disconnected, clover metropolitan bubble dwelling clique.

And here's proof of their endeavours -

A bit of fodder for the cloth cap tories who've kept that rag alive since the times it was rooting for Adolf in the 30's.

They drank it all in then as well.

But God forbid should anyone say "punch a nazi".

Remarkable - and a little bit depressing - that somebody thought that story worthy of sharing.

Imagine being the journalist who wrote it, knowing that the years education that led you into such an important profession has ended up with you writing articles on two people sitting at a table where there's also champagne.

Wow, huge scoop from the The Heil, there.

Editor: Send a photographer into one of the bars in the Houses of Parliament and see what they can get.

Photographer: I've got a picture of two Members of Parliament having a drink in a bar in the Houses of Parliament.

Editor: Great, we should be able to spin that in a way that will outrage a few mindless plebs. Thanks.

Lambrusco.

The Tories on the next table had the Champers plus strawberries and cream.

'Voice of the silent majority' rather losing its way with this one.

Shami Chakrabarti is a tiny wee thing who doesn't look as if she overindulges in anything, andI'm sure that Diane Abbott would have plumped for the salad rather than anything too heavy.

They don't look too happy though do they.......

Tragic OP..I guess people who work full time, in pretty well paid jobs, can spend their money in the UK in 2017, on just about anything they like.

What a small-minded little twerp you must be.

- for the record I am no fan of Chakrabarti [though I recognise she is a pretty smart customer] and I cannot stand Abbott, who has done a great deal of damage to the Labour cause.

Now these two hypercritical sisters are against grammar schools and prefer to stick to the socialist/communist delusion that there aren't some kids who're more clever than others. Even though it quite clearly flies in the face of nature.

While they campaign for institutional averaging for us poor plebs. Abbott was sending her child to the £10,000 per year City of London school.

Also, Chackribati had "real concerns about grammar schools,” the new shadow attorney general said on ITV’s Peston on Sunday when asked about Labour’s opposition to selective education – before admitting she in fact sends her own son to a private school. That’s the prestigious Dulwich College at a cost of £18,000 a year.

Utter hypocrisy, is something that "small minded little twerps" like me love to point out!

Looking at the bigger picture , is not something that intellectual giants , like yourself , have a monopoly on !

Hi Hampstead, I believe its the "political hypocrisy" thing; on one side Jeremy Corbyn is working hard to create a Labour image that will re-connect with working class votes (at least I guess that's what a left wing Labour party should be doing if they want to progress electorally) - and, on the other Mail has photo of 2 of Corbyn's supporters in a Palace of Westminster "champagne bar."

I'd be very surprised if press photographers are allowed in the bars to take photos, so I'd assume photo has been taken by someone who has got access.

Yes, Ringo is right about the hypocrisy also re education. Diane Abbott sent her son to selective school (I forget whether this was fee paying or grammar), as Chakrabarti apparently does.

It would be great if more MPs were concerned about the standards of everyone's education - rather than saying no to better education for the general population, while wanting better for their own families.

For political balance, I'm sure we can find hypocritical activities on the other sides of the political divides.

BTW: Who would have thought champagne costs so much! Or, Prosecco or Cava? And, that's before you get to the award winning British Fizz.

I wonder what Parliament would be like if MPs were banned from drinking while on duty like many other "work places."

I don't like this pair, 2 reasons why I wouldn't now vote Labour after doing so in many previous elections. (One of them a toady, one a hypocrite - amongst other things)
However, I can't see anything wrong, per se, with them sharing a glass of something fizzy whilst in conversation. The photo/article is a just a bit of Mail sh**-stirring.
