Yes, we have - Hull City in both 2009/2010 and 2014/2015

We certainly won't be doing the double today, that's for a certain sure. I just hope we can put in a respectable performance.

Re: With our appalling away record
Of course I can blame you lol. My earlier thoughts a few games were "it's a question of odds, we will put in a good performance and opposition will have a shocker plus going in off defenders for home goals". Hull and Swansea let me down and my faith was shaken but I didn't slide into the dark side and my faith will be tested yet again today. And probably every away game left but........FactualFrank wrote:You can't really blame me, Kate. 17/1 on us to win!

Re: With our appalling away record
We really can't be relying on other results. It's a poor do when we're always looking for other teams to lose. That shouldn't matter - it's what we do that counts and I refer back to my '10 points is bugger all' comments a few weeks ago. I'm being proven to be correct as the gap is already closing.KateR wrote:Of course I can blame you lol. There is no Hull and Swansea letting us down - it's down to us to get a few more points to stay up. If we throw away what was a 10 point gap, we deserve to go down.
Re: With our appalling away record
was a 9 point gap, and was significant at the time as several weeks later we're still 7 clear with today to play. only if we go down will you be proven correct. 13/1 for us to win today...20/1 for us to be relegated

It's hardly surprising the gap has closed considering that teams below us have played and we haven't.

Re: With our appalling away record
I think he was referring to our results at Hull and Swansea rather than yesterday's game.
I too believe we will win every game, home and away, but don't honestly expect us to. Each failure to win is a let down, of sorts.
And I agree, if we let a 10 point advantage slip away and get relegated then it will be entirely our own fault. I have faith we will get sufficient points, probably not today if I'm being honest, to retain our place in the Premier League for next season.

Re: With our appalling away record
We are built to play against a team like Liverpool away. Give then all the possession and let them shoot from distance or push them out wide.
Remember this, Liverpool have earned themselves just 1 point in 2017 v Leicester, Hull, Swansea and Sunderland combined.
They struggle to get up for games like this.
It will take a lot of things to go our way and we need to bury our chances. But it can be done.
AND even if we get beat 4-0 it doesn't matter. This is a free swing.

Never has there been a game in the prem wher the underdog has started at 17/1
Re: With our appalling away record
My message was in relation to when we played them (Hull and Swansea) away and the results as in I was expecting the first win at both of them, not in any other game or contextFactualFrank wrote:We really can't be relying on other results. Re: With our appalling away record
The gap is not exactly closing fast though, is it? The last time it was less than 7 points was after the Boro game - after all the teams had played 18 matches.FactualFrank wrote:We really can't be relying on other results. And if 10 points is 'bugger all' why aren't we considered relegation contenders by the media, or Spurs being seen as a threat to Chelsea winning the title?
Re: With our appalling away record
also 4 - 0 does and probably can be a reason for worry, our GD is not bad, a 3 or 4 -0 in my opinion is cause for doom and gloom, but will still keep the faith, although sorely tested I will not slide in to the dark side

Re: With our appalling away record
Given amount of focus the Liverpool media pack have put on this game in local and national media all week you have to believe they are up for it - they know if the cock it up after the Arsenal result they are in for a right Kicking from their own - even the players and management team have been emphasizing the importance of the match.Claretmatt4 wrote:They struggle to get up for games like this.
I believe they see all their problems occurring as a result of that game at the Turf.
Re: With our appalling away record
It's you who misses the point. A 9 or 10 point gap was significant- if we don't go down that'll be proven. Your constant references to the possibility of us being relegated is tedious. I'd think the same if a poster was relentlessly saying we are definitely staying up. Just enjoy the rest of the season taking one game at a time.FactualFrank wrote:Haha no... you miss the point. It could go as slow as it wanted, it was about the end result - season close. You're not getting my point and it doesn't appear that my point will get across, so it's probably best if I (try my best to) leave it.
If we draw today, it'll be massive though.

Re: With our appalling away record
If we avoid defeat we will be the only PL team to not be defeated at both Old Trafford and Anfield in a single season in 14 years
