Sunderland game
Is this game a free hit, they won't reach 31 points, should we just go for it...win at all costs?

Re: Sunderland game
Nothing is a free hit at this stage of the season unless it's against one of the top 6 teams.

Re: Sunderland game
Sunderland is our best chance to get that elusive away win. I'd like to see us go for it, much like we did at home when we demolished them.

Re: Sunderland game
No such thing as a free hit. Every game is winnable.
Big pressure on to win at Sunderland as we will be in for a lot of flak if we don't.

Re: Sunderland game
Think there is more pressure on them than us,I'd say that's a free hit for us to really go for it and win....losing it wouldn't be the end of the world...so just go for it..a free hit!

Re: Sunderland game
More pressure on us than them IMO. They're gone, they're not very good. We, on the other hand, need to show we can win away, and if you're going to win away surely it has to be against the bottom team that you've already shown you have the measure of.

Re: Sunderland game
We have to go their Saturday and give it a real go, play like the home side. We are desperate for points, and a defeat at Sunderland will put the pressure on for the Spurs and Stoke games

Re: Sunderland game
I really do think this is the game we will win away from home as the pressure must be hell for Sunderland .
Re: Sunderland game
The problem is that Sunderland cant afford to lose this game should be a cracker
Re: Sunderland game
It's more of a must win for Sunderland than for us.
If they don't win they're almost doomed to go down.
If we win we're almost safe.
A draw still probably means Sunderland will go down while edges us
that little bit closer to safety especially if Hull and Boro' and others below us don't win.
Think Dyche should go for the win and pick the best team to do so.

Re: Sunderland game
I believe SD always picks a team to win, home or away and this will be no different, the rewards for both teams are very high, but I think regardless it will be a draw and once again we will our last away game of the year

Re: Sunderland game
Sunderland are under pressure in that they don't want to be the first (or possibly only) team to lose at home to Burnley.

Re: Sunderland game
Just a point from the recent past - Two seasons ago some posters had written off Leicester at this stage; so Sunderland are not out for the count.
I still think we will easily stay up though..

Re: Sunderland game
Hey Electro, what you saying 34 points and we are safe? I suppose a lot of season ticket renewals for the early bird deal hinge on this game.ElectroClaret wrote:If we win we're definitely safe.

Re: Sunderland game
Sunderland problems stem from the back, slow and clumsy, have to play deep, even using O'Shea in front of back four. Tailor made for Gray! First away win and safety.
