Re: McClaren sacked (again)
He's missed out on promotion hasn't he, I thought that was the plan at Derby?

OTR has been put in temporary charge till the end of the season..
Re: McClaren sacked (again)
A fine example of how not run a club. Or how not to be a football manager for that matter.

McLaren should've stayed at FC Twente after he won that title.

Derby - 1 win in last 9 games.
Statement released by the club -
"We've experienced significant, unexpected, persistent decline in results, unity and Morale."
Everyone else expected it, so I don't know why they're so surprised by it.

Strange thing is Sidney they'll probably be fine as regards FFP. The reason being their exceptional Income, in their last accounts they had the highest number of season ticket holders and the highest average attendance in the FL.
As for McClaren, when they sacked him last time round his contract ran to 2017, so goodness knows the extent of the pay-off this time.

Re: McClaren sacked (again)
I had dinner last Thursday with a Derby fan who is convinced that Mel Morris is a good chairman and running the club very well, he also thought that most Derby fans shared his view.
Re: McClaren sacked (again)
Gary Rowett will probably be the next in line to try the Derby Way.

I doubt it's enough to cover Shackell's, Johnson's, Thorne's, Bryson's, Bent's and Ince's wages.Royboyclaret wrote:

Re: McClaren sacked (again)
fair play to Morris for putting all the money in, but he's got to learn to trust the managers he appoints.
No one can do anything in five months, especially in the a division as mental as the championship is.

I think that it's clear that he isn't one for learning.
A very desperate clueless man trying to get into the Premier League.

Steve McClaren has been installed as the bookie's favourite for Derby's next manager.

Five managers sacked in under two years now - including McClaren twice.

Management appointments are very dissimilar but kinda like the kids way of sticking your hand back into the bag of sweets until you find one you want.
It costs a lot more at football than it does with a quarter pound of liquorice allsorts from the jar.

Re: McClaren sacked (again)
It makes you wonder how many more seasons the lazy and complacent Hughes, Russell and Co. will be allowed to undermine their manager before they are finally moved on.

Yes. With his command of Dutch he was ideally equipped for double Dutch.Sidney1st wrote:McLaren should've stayed at FC Twente after he won that title.

Re: McClaren sacked (again)
Strangely, Derby can learn from Leeds; when Cellino was forever sticking his nose in and sacking managers their form was cr4p but since he appointed Monk and let him get on with it, they are solid in the play offs. I'm so glad Mel Morris, or Cellino don't own Burnley.

Mirror are claiming Rowett is taking over and has remit to make big changes to the squad.

Why on earth Rowett would want the Derby job when Norwich is available is a mystery.

Maybe Norwich don't want him?
