Wonder what the odds were on 3 managers in the championship sacked over the weekend and none being Zola

How any manager can be expected to achieve anything in such a short time is just incredible. It's just madness but no doubt it will happen again at some other club.

Four months too long though. They weren't in such a dire position when they sacked Caldwell, who had taken them to success last season.
Wigan's fortunes are directly relevant to the survival hopes at Ewood, so let's hope that someone can turn things around.
Rotherham are down and out, but if Wigan pick up a bit, then it means there are still 2 relegation slots available.

I'm amazed Zola is still there to be honest. He's done well to take them from a team close to the top six.

Was it on here someone said Zola only gets managers jobs because of his exotic sounding name :)

I wonder if Nixon will propose Coyle for the job? (I believe he's available, and deluded enough to apply).

I was very surprised when they got Zola in the first place. Especially replacing such a good up and coming manager as Rowett. Birmingham deserve all they get.
As for Wigan, from talking to locals I'm not surprised but they shouldn't have got rid of Caldwell so hastily. If he was still in charge I'm sure they'd have been reasonably safe if not where they wanted to be.

The last 100 days takes us back to just after the start of November - the total in that time is 30 so it is very close to a third.

It's bonkers that there have been 33 changes since the season started - probably more with some clubs changing more than once in that time.

Would expect every one to move up at least one position by we time we kick off 2017/18 season, with a new number 1 position

8 of those 33 clubs have made more than one change but incredibly there have been 48 clubs changed manager since the end of last season with 19 having changed at least twice.

A symptom of the modern society where everything has to be 'instant' ---very sad really.

Granddad ( Dave Whelan) mustn't have been happy with the results.

IMO David Sharpe has no say in what goes on at Wigan.
Dave Whelan is still in charge but stays in the background.

That is coming from lots of Latics supporters I know.

4 months is far to little amount of time to get results, he wasn't Gary Caldwell and that was who the Supporters wanted as Manager.

They did not like that he should have been sacked in the first place.

I just hope they do go down, back where they belong.

Yeah. Great idea. Wigan to go down and Rovers to stay up. I doubt many Clarets will agree with you.

Well as a Wiganer supporting Burnley I would prefer both to go down.

Fine - but you must admit that the chances of Rovers being relegated are significantly increased if Wigan can dig themselves out.
(Rotherham already down and out).

Well Burnleybabe, as a fellow Wiganer, it would give me no pleasure at all if Latics got relegated. As for Rovers :D
