Gambling? i've never been attracted to it, thankfully.

I am not very happy about this.
I genuinely worry about the amount of gambling advertisement within the game and on TV.
However, for BFC to use my personal e-mail for such promotions, is a breach of my personal data. IMO.
Club sponsor or not, email coming from BFC or not, I did not give them permission to send me gambling promotions.

In fact, I have just sent the following e-mail:

14/03/17
Dear Sir/Madam
Following on from this morning's e-mail from the club offering me
a free £5 with dafabet on this weekend's match v Sunderland.

Please could you remove me from your e-mailing list for all such promotions.
If this is not possible, could the club please remove my e-mail address from all its systems?

You probably did give them permission when you signed up and agreed to the terms and conditions.

This was always going to happen at some point - surprised it took them so long to be honest.

You get into bed with the devil....etc etc !

Think we should petition the club to reconsider allowing Dafabet to do this.

Didn't read the e-mail. It's there on the subject line.

The only way to petition is for anyone who is concerned to e-mail the club.

I suppose the only way you'll be concerned is if you have seen or been close to people
or families that have been torn apart by addiction of one sort or another.

My inbox has 1,267 unread emails,it's no big deal deleting them in one click, suppose it saves the post mans back from carrying all that junk mail we used to get through the letterbox

All it needs for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.

Isn't this one of the promotion trickeries employed by some companies that the proposed new legislation is trying to stop.

As has already been said...don't open the email and delete it. It really is not hard. I get pop ups I don't want from products I don't want..i see banners on sites I don't neccessarily agree with. Modern digital life.
Really. Get a grip. Not exactly forcing you to bet are they?

The email you sent to them will be in the same place the one they sent you should be. In the email trash can.

Alternatively if you were a matched bettor then you would make money out of it with no risk at all... :D

If you support the club you must at least put up with the sponsors, the only difference is gambling feels seedier than money off a solid oak table.

Just delete rather than going on a moral crusade.

Why don't you take advantage of the offer?

I would but I'm already registered with them.

Do you need to put a bet on when registering to get the freebies?

I don't particularly condone what they have done with a email trying to entice new customers on Cheltenham day because I know them little free bets can get people signing up to a free bet, then all of a sudden you are using your own money and it can get a bit silly. But on the other hand it's just modern society, you watch a football match every evening and these offers are flying round the advertising boards and you get a daft cockney on the adverts telling you to back a player to score next etc.So it's something we see everyday, think it's a massive overreaction to start having a go at the club, people either see sense and take the free bet,are do the daft thing and ignore it :D

It's daft that kids shirts can't have a betting logo on them, yet it's fine for every other pre match advert, half time advert, post match advert, in game advertising and even some punditry (particularly talk sport) to promote the latest odds and offers.

When the fun stops, stop! If it's not already it's going to become a big problem that will ultimately I suspect see at least some big restriction on advertising (as with cigarettes).
