Frank McParland

Post by ClaretTony » Fri Mar 03, 2017 5:38 pm

Been appointed as temporary director of football at Nottingham Forest with a view to it being made permanent in the summer.

Interesting appointment, given it was Forest supposedly the destination for him, Mark Warburton and David Weir when Rangers accepted their resignations. I suppose we can expect Warburton there soon.

That's Forest trying to sign Joey this summer then.

Well...maybe not if Warburton and Weir follow McParland!

11 days ago I posted that we could expect Warburton at Forest soon - didn't expect it to be this soon but he's been appointed this morning.

Fair play to Warburton, he has basically held his hands up and admitted being a liar.

If you'd asked me about a year or so ago who I would want if Dyche were to leave I would have had Warburton high on my list. He wouldn't even be on my list now given the Barton situation and the way he left Rangers.

Forest appoint Warburton and their bitter rivals Derby appoint Rowett.

This morning I would be much happier being a Derby fan.

Fortunately i`m even happier being a Burnley flan when you see how many managers both Forest and Derby have had in the same period we have had Dyche - it can`t be far off double figures.

After they play each other this weekend, the East Midlands derby will have featured ten different managers in the last five meetings.

That is truly a shocking statistic and indictment of what is happening to our game

Would have thought Rowett has had enough of eccentric owners...Still, money talks.
