5:14 train from Manchester Road

Post by WABclaret » Tue Mar 14, 2017 6:48 am

Hi All, thought I would travel by train next game, just some advice from those that get the train to Preston after the game, is the 5:14 normally punctual and easy to get on. I only have 10 mins in Preston to get my connection? Cheers

If you give yourself a ten minute window with any Northern Rail service you deserve to be rewarded with it being on time. At that time of day I would expect to be let down by them.

Trust them as far as you could throw the train if it were to turn up.

I would risk it as most won't get up the hill quick enough to make that train. What's the worst that can happen spend an hour in Preston?

The train might be held for Spurs fans, there are usually a fair few of them who come on the train.

I wouldn't bank on the unhelpful Virgin staff to hold any train.

Talking about the Northern Rail train from Manny road. Would not expect Virgin to hold a train for football fans
