If we're using today's game as a guide to next week's selection Arfield will keep his place pretty comfortably. Much better than Brady on the day.
That free-kick against Chelsea seems an awfully long time ago now...

Same here, but I seriously doubt that our "upgrades" are really doing any genuine upgrading

I'd certainly keep Arfield in next week, but i'd bring Brady in for Boyd. Brady didn't get lots of chances today but i thought he showed a few touches that suggested he's got a bit more used to the pace and how we play, and if we sit him on the left wing he ought to be an asset at Sunderland.

Wages ???
Redmond looks miles better than Brady from what I've seen, to be fair.

Some of the comments about Brady are pathetic.

I think it is fair to say he has been average so far. Its early days and he will get better once he acclimatises.

He's definitely not a right winger, why Dyche didn't swap him and Arfield god only knows.

He is like Hendrick when he came, needs time too settle and get used to how we play, he looks lost at times as though he does not know what to do, he'll come good at some stage, just needs time, did look like he injured his thigh though today.

They will run a lot, but there won't me much in terms of stopping counter attacks, stopping crosses, stopping the full backs overlapping. It's mostly ineffective in comparison to a "normal" winger, because it just invites their full backs forward. That makes their defensive midfield drop slightly, and gives gray and Barnes absolutely no room. Especially as we hit it straight down the middle most of the time to them
Well you were wrong then! Ha!

Brady must find his way. He must also do some proper defensive work.

Was I? Where was Boyd for their first goal? Next to the crosser. Did he stop the cross? No
For the first 20 minutes Boyd played high up the pitch, pressed quickly, and we got our rewards. Then he (along with everyone else) reverted back to normal tactics and we basically invited that goal before half time.
In comparison to Arfield though, I thought Boyd had a much better game

Arfield could of blocked the Can goal if he tried to block it instead of standing off.

Difficult for Brady to win some fans over - looked lively when he first arrived v Watford some good runs and corners, asked to play in an unfamiliar role on Sunday and got into some excellent positions - oh and he's scored and has an assist in other games.
Unfortunately some passes have gone astray and there have been no hat tricks.
SD is trying to change how we play - Westwood, Defour, Brady - all known for their passing not their endless running and tough tackling - so it will take time to blend

The problem is - SD is not trying to change the way we play, he is trying to get the likes Westwood Defour and Brady to play to our current style of defensive set up and long balls to the front, hence they are struggling

Brady will eventually come good. No issues with him other than he is currently not doing what is required of a Burnley player.

That sounds like a pretty big issue.

Like most players he'll probably take a while to settle in to the club and the way the team plays. I think he'll prove to be an outstanding player for us.

He's a decent player and as Tony says, given time, we will start to see it.
I'm a little surprised that so far, we've not quite seen the work rate and defensive duties that are expected from our wingers, from Brady.
He's played both left wing and left back effectively in the Premier League and I did think he'd fit in very quickly, considering his experience and the type of player I've seen him be.
It will come though and he will be a great fit for us, I'm sure.

Clearly a player that needs a Dyche pre-season.
Big player next year

Absolutely - he's only played three games, one against the best team in the league and the other two away from home.

Easy to underestimate how difficult a run of games it has been for Brady to get up to speed in. Chelsea at home, then 3 away games when you inevitably have less of the ball. We defend in a particular way and it does take wide players someone getting used to. JBG looked a bit lost initially.
Don't underestimate the price tag, either. Hes a human so he'll be feeling the pressure of that and more than once, especially against Hull, he's looked to me to be trying a bit too hard.
