There are a whole list of managers who'd have been able to make them more organised and more solid at the back but their trouble is they can't score and that's surely much harder to fix. I'm not convinced that swapping Rhodes and Nugent for Gestede and Bamford made any sense at all.

I'd have liked to see him stay but I can't see them being much more attractive to available managers than we were when Coyle buggered off.

We have 3 games before we play them and it is very possible we will get 5-7 points from them, in which case how we do against Boro isn't relevant, whereas if we mess up those 3 games even Karanka could have beaten us.

Shouldnt affect us as we should just concentrate on what we have to do which I am sure Dyche and co will.

We shoudnt be looking over our shoulders on 31 points with ten games left and having travelled away to all of the top 6.

shame as he was doing a great job but he can fully concentrate on his obsession with us now.

its largely irrelevant to us, we only need to worry about ourselves.

Nothing has "happened to us." Another football team has lost their manager. It's got nothing to do with Burnley - it has no impact on our team. We haven't "lost our manager" because Sean Dyche is a great manager, we are on 31 points and have got 10 games left to get some more. Burnley will be playing Premier League football again next season.

Hey,hey, caaaalm down, caaalm down. I was only talking about an inevitable defeat to a temporarily-rejuvenated Middlesbrough, not relegation. The thought had never crossed my mind. It isn't always snowing in Burnley but it rains a heck of a lot though.

Karanka's dismissal doesn't affect us in the slightest. Stop panicking.

Relax.

You would think that whichever manager, whether at Palace, Leicester (temp), Hull, Swansea or Boro will immediately be sacked if the team gets relegated.

Hardly good for their CV.

a few facts (lifted from BBC webste)

Middlesbrough:
Worst shot conversion rate in 2016-17, including blocked shots, of 7.76%.
Fewest touches inside the opposition box - 392 in 27 games, an average of 14.5 per game.
Fewest shots from outside the box - 16 in 27 games.
Scored one goal from outside the box, another Premier League low.
Created the fewest chances - 173 including assists.
And history is not on their side...

In 15 of the 25 Premier League seasons since 1992, the lowest scorers have been relegated.
Since 1992, only 14 other teams have scored 19 goals or fewer after 27 Premier League games. Only five of them have stayed up.

Hi Man of Kent, yes, my comments not specifically responding to you. But, given where we are (League table, not geography) we shouldn't be worrying about other teams changing their manager.

Burnley kept confidence with Sean Dyche two seasons ago. We are successful today because we did that.

Boro might get a lift from change of management, but it didn't work for them last season.

Of course, neither you nor I live in Burnley.

Let's look forward to Saturday and Sunderland: one-game-at-a-time.

I don't get all this Nigel Pearson adoration.

In my mind a very average manager with an ego which is far bigger than his capabilities.

The one positive is that all the clubs with new managers can't keep on picking points on a regular basis due to them having to play each other.

For example, Swansea have Bournemouth away at the weekend, followed by Boro at home. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could be back in deep trouble after those games.

And then Hull play Boro at home the game after. Something has got to give.

37 points will see us safe, guaranteed.

If Pearson goes to Boro surely they are just swapping one nutter for another.

Dyche, whilst alone, will have such a smug smile on his face now AK has been binned :-)

No doubt we'll take it game by game and hope we can get the 6 or 7 points
we may need to ensure we stay up and hope that none of Hull, Boro' and /or Sunderland
suddenly start putting more than a few wins together.
Boro' will be hoping that a new manager can change their current form but they'll need results/wins against
Hull, Swansea and Bournemouth away and us at home to be in with much of a chance.

Hull look the most likely at present with 4 home games that will look very winnable
to them with 2 of them against Boro' and Sunderland.
If they manage that and pick up a few points away too then they'll hope to have a chance
of staying up and overtaking one or some of the teams above them.
If they can get up to 38/39 points (4 wins and 2/3 draws) then we,
unless one of the teams below us collapses, might require another 7 or 8 points.
Can't see Swansea, Palace or Leicester suddenly losing 4 or 5 on the trot.

One would hope that another 7 or 8 points is achievable but we really need to make sure that,
at the very least, we don't lose at Sunderland and/or Boro'
and can get a couple of wins at home as well. And stay relatively injury fee too.
And keep our goal difference better than those three.

Us and Hull will have a big say in whether the North East teams get relegated. If they fail to beat either of us it'll as good as put them down.

I don't by into this 37 point malarky...... we need 40. Soon as you mentally start saying 37, you'll get 35

We don't need anywhere near 40.

35 will be easily enough.

This season is an unusual season.
35 points will easily be enough this time round.
There are going to be a lot of drawn games between the bottom 6 teams, with games running out where they can pick up 3 pointers for a few of them.

It doesn't matter if Boro start to improve, it will be at the expense of teams around them.
