Keane edges it for me for POTY, but yes he was good. Glad he finally moved to the centre. It was always clear he wasn't a left-back.

The back five were outstanding. Lowton had a few hairy moments.

Ward for me is the best full back weve had in years. Hes solid every week.

The back four did fine, but against as bad an attacking outfit as we'll ever watch in the top flight. The quality into Defoe was worse than ours into Gray. Which is saying something.

Mee in particular used the ball far worse than he's capable of today.

Lowts is getting better every game. Defensively solid, and his crossing is improving as well.
I gave mom to Heats for those saves, but Mee was magnificent.
Keane and Wardy both excellent as well.

Mee certainly put in a Braveheart show today . Ward and especially Lowton have improved hugely this season as well. Heaton just MOM for me today his reaction save was of the highest class, brilliant anticipation from his line to foil Defoe as well.

have never understood why Keane get's singled out so much as I feel Ben is just as good or very very close Super pairing and work so well together, but both should be attacking the ball more at corners and this is something they could improve on.

Ward has really stepped his game up recently, he looks really comfortable at this level. His preformances of late are probably better than the ones last year, and considering the difference in opposition it's great news for us.

There were many who argued Trippier would go further than Mee but I fancy those of us who begged to differ might in the end be proved right.

Mee like Ings was considered by many on here to be not much above Division 1 standard, you know who you are.

Ings was considered championship/league 1?

Talking out your arse again, seeing as he was injured a lot before that season we got promoted.

No actually I don't.

Ings was injured and didn't do much when he played.

There were the usual number of clowns gobbing off who don't like to give managers or players a chance of course, but I don't recall people labelling him as championship/League 1.

Mee, along with the 4 others in defence are the main reason we are where we are in the table.

As good as any defence in the PL.

If only we had a wide man and forward to match the defence.

Mee and Keane have been brilliant this season - an excellent pairing and a big reason for our position in the table as their defending keeps us in games.
Heaton also been outstanding.

Lowton and Ward have both had very good seasons. Only criticism would be the quality of the full backs crossing / final ball has not been the best. But I would not want to be too harsh here as we need to remember Lowts cost a million and Ward was a free and there are many teams in our divisions who have spent a lot more on full backs who have not played as well as ours this season.

As for Ben Mee I think we are very lucky to have a player like him. For the money we paid for him not sure what more you could expect from him - plays his heart out every game and reads the game very well. Rarely injured or suspended and seems like a managers dream.

I think thats harsh. Thought that was as good ive seen him olay. No errors. Good on the ball. Even won as a corner when he was up against two defenders. And that noncehlant header back to heaton cool as you like. He was fantastic today.

Sometimes one of our players score a goal and if it wasnt our player but one who was at a "big club" the wirld would be raving about it.

Mees header back to Heaton which was done effortlessly to cut out Defoes run was brilliant along with many other times he cut the ball out. That performance from many other "big team" defenders would have left many pundits with a semi on.
