I can sit through an episode, but they might as well rename it to, "Brendan O'Carroll's ego".

They telegraph the gags so much, you can see the punchline coming a mile off.

Utter dross, but entertainment for some.

I'm going to buck the trend here. I like MBB'S and Benidorm for the reasons you don't. They're stupid, silly, predictable, light hearted and occasionally funny.

In today's society of political correctness, blame culture, do gooders, realty TV etc. they are what it says on the tin and don't pretend to be anything else.

Always amuses me the amount of people who don't like Mrs Browns Boys but probably haven't watched much of it.

I like it and watch it when I get the chance.

The Office and Extras wipes the floor with Mrs Browns Boys, in fact the second series of Extras highlights it brilliantly. "Ya avin a laugh?!"

Yeah, Mrs Brown's Boys is the real life version of When the Whistle Blows.

Its a personal matter really, what we find funny as individuals. Rather like the music that hits the spot. I have enjoyed MBsB, but I tire of it now. I love the dry sarcasm delivered by Blackadder, the crudeness Mayall and Edmondson gave us in Bottom, the old classics with Ronnie Barker etc.

But I also love the occasional bumbling Stan and Ollie, the hair-raising Harold Lloyd.

Obviously, a lot of folk enjoy MBsB, which is why the Beeb persist with it. Fortunately we have dozens of other channels to choose from. If folk enjoy it, let 'em watch it.
I do agree with the OP to a point, but just because I think its time to put the series to bed.

Really ? Who is saying they don't like it but never watched it ? That's a strange thing to say about anything !

I have watched it and think it's absolutely awful - not my idea of comedy at all - but each to his own eh.

I had the misfortune to turn on the TV at Christmas and found that it was always Mrs B B. EVERY DAY.
I watched a bit of an episode and wondered what was funny, other than a man dressed in drag - which wasn't funny.

Huffing and puffing slapstick which was predictable twaddle.

On the subject of Benidorm ..... It used to be brilliant but has been getting progressively worse over the last 2 or 3 series and is very poor now  I keep on watching it on the hope it will hit the heights again but I fear it's a lost cause.

We do comedy so badly in this country! .... The only thing I've laughed out loud at over the last few years at was 'The Kennedys' on the BBC but it was axed by them after just one series. I was gutted, such a funny show!

I watched 'Bottom' for the first time in decades the other day. Me and my missus used to love it when we first met. I don't know if we have changed but I now realise it's a load of shite!

The problem with comedy these days is the restrictions imposed by political correctness. It is watered down comedy.

You wouldn't get away with Mind Your Language, Love Thy Neighbour, It Ain't Half Hot Mum and Till Death do us Part these days.

It happens to most comedies over the years.
I loved the first few series of Last of the Summer Wine. The humour was very dry and the story lines very simple.
The longer it's gone on the stories have dragged into stupid stunts and forced gags. Still a good show, but nowhere near as good as the original.

I agree with you regarding Benidorm, only I've now given up on it completely.
