A massive match in Dublin at teatime today as England attempt to hit the record books.

Only Ireland can prevent England from becoming the sixth team in 107 years to complete back-to-back Grand Slams, in Saturday's final Six Nations round.

Last week's 61-21 defeat of Scotland, combined with Ireland's loss to Wales, ensured England are chasing history rather than trophies in Dublin, with the tournament already won.

They can also set a new top-tier record with their 19th successive Test win.

But former coach Sir Clive Woodward has warned England to expect an "ambush".

England Women won their Grand Slam last night by beating Ireland 7-34 at Donnybrook.
Under-20 Six Nations: Ireland U20s 10-14 England U20s - therefore a Grand Slam for England under 20s

- can we do the hat-trick in just under 3 hours?
Ireland will do their best to spoil the party, no doubt about that..I cannot see that there will be any complacency from England, Jones will ensure that.
[so will the England players]..

After Ireland losing last week to Wales, they have little on this match, and I expect England to come through.
- you just never know though...

Hello Hatfield...well the Irish did us at Cheltenham this week, I hope they don't repeat it at the Aviva this afternoon.

They have messed us up before in Grand Slam matches.

Ireland away always difficult. Irish fans will be in good voice. Was even more difficult when it was at Croke Park though.

I've been thinking the same Blackrod for quite a while.

I have though, been watching the highlights programmes lately showing the women's internationals, and there is no doubt that the standards of play have massively increased in recent times, so fair play to the ladies for that...and the supporters love it.

Heading to my local at HT in the Burnley game. I live not far away from the Aviva stadium and will watch the Burnley game on my phone.

Can't wait, it'll be electric. Ireland win and the place will be bouncing, England win and its the grand slam x2 and world record.

Burnley and England win and I'll still be drinking by next Tuesday.....

Not impressed so far; it's as if it was the England team celebrating St Patricks Day a bit too much. Sluggish and lacking the sharpness that was there last week.

Yes Tribesmen it was your day and well played Ireland.
Only one team deserved to win this match.
England could not get the ball,.[only 25% possession in the first half] and we were awful at the line out..we knocked on..we kicked too often.
Tactically we never got into the game..it was a match too far.

As I said in the OP..'Ireland will do their best to spoil the party, no doubt about that'..

England are Champions again this season, they have equalled the world record for consecutive Test match wins [18] and we have an excellent squad and plenty of positives to take forward.

Eddie Jones, in comments made after the match, is taking responsibility for the defeat.

Mixed emotions about the result. The Englishman in we wanted the win, the rugby purist was happy for an Irish 'upset'. Didn't really want the current squad to be lauding themselves as the best ever as the 2003 world cup team would beat them 9 times out of 10 in my view.

Taking Italy results out of it, matches between the other 5 all went with the home team excepting England's win in Wales.
England will be disappointed to lose (albeit to a good Irish side in Dublin) but still topped the table because of the late Daly try in Wales.
The end of tournament table is a fair reflection of where the teams are (all still behind the ABs).

England drop 1.48 ranking points after yesterday and are still 2nd ranked team in the world. Won the GS last year and the Championship this year. Hardly "bottling it".
Ireland gain 1.48 ranking points after yesterday but are still 4th, though now v close to Australia in 3rd.
Good win by Ireland yesterday, lets see if they can repeat that in TW next year.
Jones will be miffed but he'll be examining what went wrong & how he can correct/improve on that as he builds his squad towards the next World Cup.

Ian..top bloke that you are...if you think that the England players yesterday 'thought Ireland would just roll over' then you are bonkers.

Every England player in yesterday's squad, and the coach Eddie Jones, knew that Ireland would play FEROCIOUSLY, at home, on St Patrick's Day weekend and give everything they had, to stop England.
- that is what Ireland did, and it was a significant factor in their deserved win.
The Irish performance, and their 'match plan' were just too good for us.

Do not let your rabid desire to see England defeated, cloud your view of what happened in the match.

** On BBC 5live at 1.00pm today there will be a discussion of yesterday's rugby - if anyone suggests on there that England 'thought Ireland would just roll over' then I promise on the day of the Man. Utd match, I will run on Turf Moor five minutes before kick-off, and lap the pitch in a pair of Adidas Gazelle's and a Burnley bobble hat.
