Re: Grays movement
Thought Gray had a decent game yesterday but lets not kid ourselves his movement is awful. One of the problems Brady is going to have is that both Gray and Barnes are p*ss poor when it comes to making the right runs at the right time to find space in the box. Austin has been mentioned and one of the things he was best at was just as a cross was ready to be delivered suddenly darting into space.
Also there was several times balls were played into Grays feet sharply with players moving off him and it either just bounced off him or he turned into a dead end. Brady made one great run where he beat a man carried it twenty yards and fired into Grays feet and Gray couldnt even control it never mind give it back to Brady who had made a good run off the ball.
Gray and Barnes primary roles in our team are defensive ones which whilst its got Dyche his great success this season its a sad state of affairs that every player on the pitch is there primarily for their defensive qualities.
Gray is in the team to stop the other teams defence playing a high line and thus stopping them being able to press us high up the pitch giving our defence and midfield the time and space it needs to make up for its lack of quality on the ball. Barnes is in the team so we can lump it up and either win free kicks or contest the knock downs so basically just to try and get us up the pitch
We will stay up this year but the challenge for Dyche next season if he hangs around is how does he balance having players like Defour and Brady plus a couple of other quality players whose primary role is to attack with his rigid framework and focus on stopping the opposition rather than trying to make them worry about stopping us

Re: Grays movement
Failed to control a couple yesterday, as we've come to expect, but overall his play was excellent. He works the defence no end, made lots of good runs to pick up passes into the corners (he doesn't get passes into the box), and used the ball well.
Re: Grays movement
Apparently Leigh-Anne Pinnock is more than happy with his movement
