It'll be interesting to see how he get on because he's probably never played in a 3 before!

The way some people complained about Lowton last season you'd assume he was being carried, so technically we only had 3 defenders

There will be some tears on social media if that's the starting line up.

The only back three he should be playing in is;
Heaton
Keane Mee.

Play those for england with Walker and Bertrand as full backs and it'd be like a defensive line of Carlos, Nesta, Cannavaro and Cafu. Only a bit shitter.

Prefer him not to play. He is vital for our chances of staying up. Good for him but not the club.

If Keane starts tonight it is fantastic for him and equally so for the club. Brilliant news all round if this is the case.

We are a gnats cock hair from staying up, for one.
He is potentially England's long term central defender, for two.
It's excellent, nay, fantabuloustic news for the club, for three.

We'll never be the biggest club in the league, but if we can get regular members of our squad into the national team then it's massively good news for us in terms of potential future signings and improving the status of the club.

Yep, if he plays well and especially if he plays on Sunday too, we'll probably get another few million for him in the summer. Providing he avoids injury of course, it's all good.

will be watching with baited breath to see how he plays and more importantly he does not get injured.

At present still just rumors so really hope it happens for him as he deserves it plus as several have said it definitely benefits the club, particularly when the world looks on and see a Burnley defender preferred to a defender who cost a gallzillion to M City. Heady days indeed :)

I love the system, if not the personnel.
Hope it's true, a giant stepping stone for him. Or is that stepping on Stones?

According to Radio 2 news, he's in. I wish I'd heard earlier, I'd have backed him to score. It'll come from a set-piece, probably. Damn !

Hope it is true. Obviously hope that he doesn't incur any injury but this should be seen as an opportunity for the lad to improve with playing at this level.

A Burnley player starting for England would be FANTASTIC news for the club.

It was unimaginable only a few years ago.

As someone has alluded too, it's another 'selling' point to potential young English players who're kicking their heels at bigger clubs not playing.

If has been unimaginable since i first went on the Turf in 1975 until very recently. We grasped at Taffy and Flynn playing for Wales, Hamilton and Cassidy playing for Norn Iron. That was it for a couple of decades.

Smalling is shite.
One of those one good game in six players, and a liability at his worst.
Stones is getting used to the new surroundings, but if we're looking to the future he should be in. Ahead of MK or not...... I'll leave that up to Gareth.

Keane is
25-1 1st goal scorer,
10-1 anytime goal scorer,
25-1 last goal scorer,
14-1 1st to score for England

all with Paddy Power

other bookmakers are available! :D

25-1 for first scorer isn't that great. I'd have expected nearer 33-1 for ANYTIME scorer, nevermind it being first.

If Heaton isn't England's number one of then he never ever will be. What's the point in saying you'll play in form players and then playing him.

Brilliant for him.
Fully deserved.
Will be very sad to see him leave this summer - but he will be ready for it and played professionally rather than throwing a juvenile strop when he wasn't sold last year.

Great news all round.

Not only does it show how far we have come. It shows how good manager we have when he has attracted and developed talented players into full England internationals.

Very lucky to have Heaton and Keane. Even luckier to have Dyche.

Great times. Savour them.

Next summer an England squad with Heaton, Keane, Gray, (Cahill and Ings) involved would be something to savour.
