This is the 87th Mothers Day that I have celebrated with my mum.
A very special day.

Happy Mothers Day mum, and to all the other fantastic, irreplaceable mothers out there.

I often feel like I'm the only person who no longer has their mother. Every conversation where mums come in, the other person or people still have theirs. I was 21 when my mum passed away and 15 years on I still think about her every day. I bought my sister some flowers as she's a great person and a fantastic mum to my 2 nephews.

Frank, you are by no means alone but I guess many of us feel as you do. I am in my 70's and lost my mother some 16 years ago. I was lucky to have her for so long but, like you, I think of her every day. I am a mother and grandmother myself so I hesitate to say it but mothers are very special people.

I've sent my daughter "Happy Mother's Day" greetings for the first time today. Her daughter, and my first granddaughter, was born earlier this month.

First Mothers' Day without my mum being alive, having died last October. I wish very much she was here and I could be partaking in the simple pleasures of talking with her and sharing a nice meal. Thankfully I had time to apologise for all the times I moaned at her or took her for granted at all. Make the most of her if your mum is still alive..not just today but every day. It's truly weird and just feels plain wrong when she is not there any more.

If you're 86. she must be a good age. How is she doing? ;)

Yesterday was the 13th time I've not been able to spoil my mum on Mother's Day. She loved flowers so I bought some to remember her, not as though I need flowers or anything else to remember her.

I don't think a day ever goes by when I don't think of her; yesterday was one of the days when she was in my thoughts from first to last. I just feel blessed that at least I had her for more than 52 years.
