Yeah, I seem to recall him scoring from the halfway line the week before. I forgot it was against PNE.
That was one hell of a season. While I'm here I'll also nominate Scunnys opener in the final match. There were 3 cracking goals that day, luckily Burnley scored two of them.

Remember him playing when they beat us 1-0 at the Turf in a cup match.
Can't remember who scored, may have been Worthington then?

James beatie free kick at the turf was the first goal I remember thinking 'wow'. Can't remember what year it was I was only young !
The best goal overall however has to be Chelsea at home.

I do think the recent Chelsea goal was pure class also.
Yes. Great goal.

Worthingtons goal was Nov 1970. Late on they won 3-2.
He was back to goal, flicked it over his head turned and volleyed in from just outside box. Did I dream that or did it happen?

1-1 draw v Bournemouth in the Championship - big money signing for them who'd never scored before - long range volley I think.
Enjoyed the Eddie Gray footage.............although not quite sure why the backing track is The Damned's "Smash It Up (Part I)"
