Ian Britton

We sadly lost Ian one year ago yesterday, a win today for the little man would be lovely.

Never forget.

Certainly one of the precious few good players in the 86-87 team.

Time passes so quickly doesn't it? Hard to believe it's a year since he sadly passed away.

Lovely guy. I chatted with him about a year before he died. We were in the pool at the Woodland Spa, Crow Wood. He seemed positive and upbeat about life, even though he knew he was seriously ill. You could also tell that, like so many other ex-players, though he wasn't a native of Burnley, he had taken the Town, Club, and People to his heart.

We should remember this lovely man, and his kindness, warmth, and generosity of spirit, as well as the fact that he scored such an important goal in the history of our Club.

Yes, the one year milestone made all the more poignant by next month's
thirty year anniversary of the Orient game.

RIP Ian.

We keep having different Topics on here concerning favourite Goals. Grewcocks and Ian Brittons both get number 1, even though May 1987 was years ago! R.I.P. Ian Britton..
