Steven Defour and Jack Wilshere
Steven Defour and Jack Wilshere
Injury records aside, both very similar players, interesting to see Wilshere come on against Southampton in the center of midfield and totally dominate, he transformed Bournemouth, who should gone on to win, where as Defour against Spurs.....

If Defour can't get a game in central midfield after Barton and Hendrick's performance today he might as well jump on the plane back to Belgium.

I thought exactly the same. Not judging at all because I think Dyche is the better manager/ but shows the different mentality and why a lot of Burnley fans are frustrated when Defour and Brady only come on when two goals down.

How often is Wilshire putting in match changing performances?
Its not often is it from memory?

a Belgian international with over 50 caps cant get in our side
laughable, i'd sack Dyche now and get that fella from Hull in. Enoughs enough im sick of paying to watch my team so useless at everything but defending in numbers and scoring from set pieces. We have 30% of the ball every game no matter who we're playing against, we make sh*te like Swansea look like Barcelona. Wheres the enjoyment in watching your side sit deep and cling on every game? I was bored sh*tless today after 60 minutes, like watching paint dry.

I dont give a toss what people think of my opinion but I want to see Defour dictating the tempo, Brady down the left not this "boot it up too a couple of carthorses and hope it hits an arsecheek and rolls in the net", its football not a team marathon so get these useless runners out.

Re: Steven Defour and Jack Wilshire
Disappointing today, some of the passing lacked finesse and Hendrick's clearance to Dier was DIRE (see what I did there?) We weren't really at the races in the 2nd half and we need to give subs longer to settle and affect the game. Taking off Andre let their defence off the leash and helped them boss midfield too leaving our front two with scraps, About time a ref gave us another penalty for shirt pulling in the first half by Dier and Vertigo...though.

I doubt we'd get the bloke from Hull in, he's currently employed.
Are Hull safe by the way?

Re: Steven Defour and Jack Wilshire
they were doomed to relegation before a ball was kicked that's why Bruce left. If Silva keeps them up he'll be considered a far better manager than Yawn Dyche. Silva may fancy his chances here with a better squad of players, the stability at board level we have and the current points cushion on Hull.Sidney1st wrote:I doubt we'd get the bloke from Hull in, he's currently employed.

If you want to play Barcelona football, get Barcelona players. 'I will show you a hundred horror stories of people that said they were going to play Barcelona football. They were out of work within three, six, nine months.

The problem lies wherein dyche only signs players for that type of football(the much mentioned 'framework') and doesn't evolve I think.Tall Paul wrote:If you want to play Barcelona football, get Barcelona players. Don't try it without them.

Re: Steven Defour and Jack Wilshire
Who said anything about wanting to play like Barcelona? there's a huge difference between playing like Barca and playing like we do. Coyle's Burnley were exciting attacking and he didn't have a £10m striker upfront and a subs bench worth £30m. Your point is a stupid one, it's not only Barca who can pass a ball and retain more than 30% possession a game.Tall Paul wrote:If you want to play Barcelona football, get Barcelona players. No they didn't though, at least talk some sense. It was actually Dyche's Burnley that were relegated.Tall Paul wrote:Coyle's Burnley got relegated.
Go compare the amount spent by both Dyche and Coyle, look at the two teams on paper. Coyle had a 40 year old fullback in midfield playing like Seedorf, Dyche has a Belgian international frozen out.

why do I care about them, Coyle's a fraud crap manager but he wasn't with us and we played far better football than we do now with nowhere near the same resources.Diesel wrote:and Coyles Bolton oh and Coyles Wigan, Blackburn?

Coyles Burnley did get relegated, that was the season he quit and went to Bolton, did you forget that one?

And both very similar in that they were on the bench today. Wilshere is made of glass, or as the media like to put it when gushing about him, his robust style of football means he's at greater risk of injury.

So he didn't get relegated with us then? So you mean Dyche didn't win promotion with us it was actually Eddie Howe because Eddie quit too.... interesting, no doubt your dumb logic only applies one way. Btw before quoting my posts in future can you actually buy a season ticket or watch us play on the internet? You know my TV watching habits do you?
Dyche got us promoted in his first full season in charge.
Coyle got cold feet and left, so he is partially to blame for the relegation.
You can't have a logical debate anyway, you aren't smart enough it would appear, hence your attempts to discredit me before we've even got started.
Bit bizarre but there we go, its your own fault though for your daft comment about Coyle.

You said you don't watch yourself, I'm not going to debate about Burnley with someone who doesn't watch us play. Fine, have it your way... Eddie Howe got us promoted, Coyle got us relegated. It doesn't make a difference to me, I don't believe Coyles a good manager but we played some fantastic football under him and he was certainly not a crap manager for us.Sidney1st wrote:Season tickets sorted for next season.

No he wasn't a crap manager, but he was losing his way prior to him leaving.
I didn't say Howe got us promoted either, you're tying yourself in knots trying to be a smart arse.
Where have I said I don't watch us on TV, because that was the question re my viewing habits?
As for attending live matches, I'm aware of how infrequently I attend, but I've also pointed out why.
You don't want to debate because you can't, you just sit and whine like a bit of a bitch.

The only time we'll ever know what's gone on with Defour is two or three years down the line. My guess is his injury has made him half the player he was and Dyche won't risk the framework which is fair enough.
