Missing Dean Marney,sound familier?
Missing Dean Marney,sound familier?
It is a run of tough fixtures for us,but cant stop thinking, the last time he was out ,long term for us,we struggled,I think we really do miss him,but changes do need to be made, for more creativety,IE Brady and Defour,Andre must be so frustrated with no service to play to his strengths, also Arfield and Hendrick, looked leggy after the International break,Please Sean, make some changes!

I agree we miss Marneys drive from midfield and his energy. We don't really have anyone like jim

We missed him last time and again this time.
Hopefully we've got a replacement either here already or lined up for when the eventual departure happens.

Yep, unsung is our Deano, I still remember the stick he used to get on the other board. Cringe.

Unsung? He only has about five different songs exclusively for him.Diesel wrote:Yep, unsung is our Deano, I still remember the stick he used to get on the other board. Cringe.

But since we lost Marney, we won two of four home games (beat Southampton and Leicester, didn't beat Chelsea or Spurs) and got more away points without him than we did with him. I'm not saying he isn't missed, but we do have better cover this time.

He played against Southampton - only win since Marney got injured was Leicester.dsr wrote:But since we lost Marney, we won two of four home games (beat Southampton and Leicester, didn't beat Chelsea or Spurs) and got more away points without him than we did with him. Re: Missing Dean Marney, sound familier?
Other than Defour (could be a superb signing if he is played in his position) our amazing scouting has gone as far as the Championship and Norwich ! Our scouting at present (although I suspect it's getting better) is inadequate, if you disagree that's fine but I'd like you to explain why rather than just deliver yet another flippant comment
edit* unless it's the recruitment/deal making side that is letting us down ?

But it was 0-0 when he went off. We won the rest of the game.ClaretTony wrote:He played against Southampton - only win since Marney got injured was Leicester.

JBG is our big miss .he has a great engine and drives forward .Don't forget how he can pick a pass and get attacks moving. It may be sacrilege to some but I think Arfield and Marney needed replacing.
Sean's puzzling support of Scottie who has had some poor games of late yet kept a shirt is a worry.

JBG could have looked a useful option, rather than just the safety first approach of Arfield/Boyd.
Marney had a good season but we should have enough to cover, fingers crossed.

Re: Missing Dean Marney,sound familier?
You could argue that we are missing our 3 best midfielders (Marney, JBG and Defour) in this recent run yet we :
- drew against Chelsea
- drew against Hull remaining the only team not to lose there since Marco Silva took over
- were completely outplayed but almost got something at Swansea
- scared the bejesus out of Liverpool again scored a wonderful goal and almost got something at Anfield for the first time in what feels like forever
- drew against Sunderland - a game we should have won
- were competitive against spurs until the removal of Gray for injury allowed Eric Dier to move up the pitch and change the game - before that they were scared stiff of his pace
