I've got Hull on around 36 pts going into the final game with Sunderland and Boro already gone.
Re: Remaining Fixtures
Looking at ours in depth, we really don't have that much to worry about.

I don't see us picking up any points Everton(a), Man U(h), and Palace(a), so think it'll go down to the final 3 games.

Re: Remaining Fixtures
That 11 point gap is a distant memory and without a win in 7 confidence can't be sky high at the moment.
I can't see the next win but certainly hope my predictions are wrong. One thing for sure, it is in our own hands.
A win against Stoke will change attitudes and we could go on a little roll but for what it's worth all I see is:
Stoke - Draw
Boro - Draw
Everton - Lose
Man U - Lose
Palace - Lose
West Brom - Draw
Bournemouth -Lose
West Ham -Draw
Edit
I think it will be enough to keep us up, just!

Of course it may happen, but it's a huge leap to suggest that we won't win again this season.

I would expect us to win at least one of Stoke, West Brom or West Ham and pick up at least one draw against Middlesbrough, Man Utd, Palace or Bournemouth.Diesel wrote:All bases covered in so little words, come on Rileybobs, where are our points coming from?
We're on a bad run, but 4 points should see us home and dry and there's no reason why we shouldn't do it. A win on Tuesday would give a huge shift in the mood.

Re: Remaining Fixtures
Stoke at home looking like a must win (or mustn't lose) now or West Ham last game of season.
Not sure were going to get anything from the other games given current form and them being away from home or teams that have given us a pasting (West Brom).
Hope to be proven wrong, we need a massive change of personnel and tactics though, starting Tuesday...
I am puzzled why we don't go back to 5 in midfield when it had good results at home earlier in the season, I'm hoping someone close to Dyche reminds him before Tuesday and that he gets Defour in centrally.....

Re: Remaining Fixtures
Hull's home fixtures should see a few wins to keep them up
Hate to say but I think it will be between us and Swansea for 18th - 36 points could be enough this season

Re: Remaining Fixtures
Honestly, honestly Boro away should be easy pickings, they are a bag of nerves, all that is needed is a good disciplined performance, which we can do, we won't get bummed by them, like we have in other away game's.

We were absolutely dire against the bottom team away so would be happy with a draw, were not making any goal scoring chances hardly these last few games...Diesel wrote:Honestly, honestly Boro away should be easy pickings, they are a bag of nerves, all that is needed is a good disciplined performance, which we can do, we won't get bummed by them, like we have in other away game's.

Re: Remaining Fixtures
I've no idea where our points will come from. In the last 7 home games, we've beaten Southampton, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Leicester, and Bournemouth; but we didn't beat Chelsea or Tottenham. If you say that West Brom, West Ham, Man U, and Stoke are all about the same standard as Chelsea or Tottenham, then you would have to say we'll struggle to get another win. If on the other hand you believe that those four or lesser teams than Chelsea or Spurs, then you have to feel we have a chance, surely?Diesel wrote:All bases covered in so little words, come on Rileybobs, where are our points coming from?

Re: Remaining Fixtures
After the Sunderland draw SD marched across the pitch in a manner which indicated to me that he was more than happy with the point, his vision is to keep it tight and pick up a point. We will not trouble Boro on Saturday, and I can't see us winning away all season, we simply don't appear to want to win a game away from home.

Sunderland needed to win that game a lot more than us. By drawing that game we effectively decided one of the relegation places leaving just 2 to avoid.Barry_Chuckle wrote:After the Sunderland draw SD marched across the pitch in a manner which indicated to me that he was more than happy with the point, his vision is to keep it tight and pick up a point. Re: Remaining Fixtures
Nonsense. We've been poor, but to suggest we only created 2 chances is pathetic. Barnes and Vokes had gilt edged chances against Sunderland and we had several attempts yesterday even if we didn't get them on target. Arfield had a sighter or two at TSOL too. Stop taking rubbish eh.Vegas Claret wrote:2 chances created in 180 minutes, Defour HAS to start in MIDFIELD

And if we'd shown a little more endeavor we could have taken 3 easy points and Sunderland would have had 1 less point than they have now.Rileybobs wrote:Sunderland needed to win that game a lot more than us. We played them off the park twice at Turf Moor and away in the cup we could have beat them by 3 or 4 goals........... Opportunity missed to bag one of the easiest 3 points on offer this season due to nothing more than us being set up to be overly cautious.

Re: Remaining Fixtures
Really? In the second half Sunderland had a number of good chances. We could have easily ended that game with 0 points instead of 1. We also missed a number of good chances that had little to do with setting up over-cautiously.Barry_Chuckle wrote:And if we'd shown a little more endeavor, we could have taken 3 easy points and Sunderland would have had 1 less point than they have now. Re: Remaining Fixtures
And Sunderland had by far the better chances in the game due to us not putting them on the back foot, they grew in confidence as the game went on and If we'd have gone at them (in the game they HAD to win) they'd more than likely have folded, just like they have game after game this season, but we didn't and on another day we'd have come away with nothing....... AGAIN!
We need to change our outlook for away games to change the results, I just can't see it happening, I hope I'm wrong and hope this starts on Saturday but as the saying goes "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got".

Re: Remaining Fixtures
Palace are now on fire after that win at Chelsea, can forget about them. Sunderland are more or less down. Boro will drop, they can't score goals.
Hull City beat a poor West ham, but still grind out good results at home. Swansea are struggling with Spurs next at home and have a poor away record
The 3rd spot is between Burnley, Swansea, West Ham & Hull
If we don't beat Stoke on Tuesday we will be right in it. We will get beat at Boro and Everton. United at home and our confidence will be rock bottom and we will have well and truly lost the winning mentality. It will then be a touch and go job if we stop up.
I thought the 4 straight away games have really taken the toll, we have lost the winning mentality and confidence looks low. Lets hope Dyche can keep the dressing room

It's a good job Barnes missed that sitter, Dyche would have been livid if he'd spoiled his chances of getting a draw.Barry_Chuckle wrote:After the Sunderland draw SD marched across the pitch in a manner which indicated to me that he was more than happy with the point, his vision is to keep it tight and pick up a point. Dyche is clueless away from home and if this continues to the end of the season he can pick up his p45 for me.
Said it one this weekend will say it again NOT BLOODY GOOD ENOUGH

Re: Remaining Fixtures
This time a couple of years ago under Dyche we were in the middle of a 14 game run were we only beat Man City. This was the worst run under Dyche in the Prem and if repeated would still be good enough to keep us up.
Dyche will sort it out, as much as we hurt after a defeat it is the gaffers career on the line. Nobody can survive two relegations in modern day football, never mind getting a top job.
Two 0-0s this week will get us nearly over the line. It's not going to be pretty but it's only results that are needed now.

Re: Remaining Fixtures
On the two chances at Sunderland you appear to be in agreement with what I said (re-read me), which contradicts the claim we didn't create any chances in 180 minutes. I'm not sure you should be so loose with those patronising emoji smiley things as it makes you look like a bit of a prat in this context.Vegas Claret wrote:![]()
