Re: The 2nd of May 1987
I think virtually all of the games had been played in the afternoon with ours an evening kick off. I'll never, ever forget the journey home from Crewe that night. I don't want to feel like that as a Burnley ever again. It led to almost five unbearable days before the elation of the Orient win.
Interesting table now to look at with two current Premier League clubs and eight non-league clubs.

If Lincoln had scraped a 1-1 draw with Scunny that night, rather than losing 1-2,
would they have stayed up?
would they have stayed up?

Can't remember the points situation at the end.

I remember that year well and the elation of the Orient game. Does make you consider just how far we have come particularly since 2008/2009 season. Some football commentators still refuse to view us as a Premier League Club Grrrrr.

It has to be the worst feeling returning home from an away fixture ever. Words to describe that feeling don't do it justice in any way whatsoever.

Yes pretty sure now.
The famous game was on the 9th and the tears after the Crewe game came on a Monday night.
