I don't like him, never have and never likely to either. He struck me as being a bit sniffy in his post match interview. File under 'Prick'.

All about the money for mark, lost his passion and it reflects in his team now.
Re: Hughes
The arrogance of his pre-match BBC interview, where he said along the lines of 'We're going to win because we have to have 9th position' and when he's out shopping 'Of course I don't want to be paying much for it.........'

Re: Hughes
Nowhere near the worst team. Not by a million miles.
But Mark Hughes is a proper charlatan. His middle-aged housewife look seems to grant him media reprieve from the nasty, snide, sniping, tugging, pulling, elbowing, pushing, barely-within-the-rules football that he promotes.
He's a relic and not a good one. He's not the turin shroud, he's Hitler's left testicle.

Re: Hughes
They had six minutes of injury time and had Peter Crouch on the pitch and failed to get a single decent ball near our six yard box.
They were pretty poor today. Not as bad as Sunderland, or Leicester, but they were pretty dire. We scored from the best chance created. Y either team.
Onwards and upwards.

Re: Hughes
I thought it was extremely ironic that Hughes (and most of the Stoke players tbh) and their fans seemed disgusted with our timewasting tactics. Seemed fine down at Stoke earlier this season when even their ball boys were cheating.
Nasty club. Hughes a very good fit with them. Hell, even Wee Joe Allen has turned in to a little cheating piece of crap. How many times did he get fatally injured tonight?
In true Inbetweeners stylee; Stoke can F**k off!

Re: Hughes
Watford were the worst team we've played at the Turf, all round. Sunderland just had a comical defence.
Stoke were exactly as you'd expect, physical, niggly with a few class players. Hughes seems an entirely joyless person these days.

Dyche would be outstanding for Stoke. Lets hope they dont replace hughes in summer. Obviously only interested in money now.

Re: Hughes
I don't think Dyche would be a popular appointment at Stoke. It would be perceived as a step back to the Pulis era. Mind you, I'd rather have Pulis at Burnley than Hughes, and WBA are above Stoke in the table.

Re: Hughes
Unless a manager has the decency to praise almighty Burnley and say how deserving we were of the points, they get a load of abuse and filed as "prick". It's absolutely nailed on. And funny. On the rare occasion a manager has conceded we were the better side, it's "I've always like him, top bloke". Ha!
What does that even mean to say Stoke are "a nasty club"..?

Re: Hughes
Stoke are exactly the sort of club we should be trying to emulate. Well run both on and off the pitch, British managers, English owned, a cup final and top ten finishes in recent seasons. Like us they have an unfashionable tag but have consolidated into a club that are regarded as PL mainstays and also been able to sign some very good players.

Re: Hughes
Is an old woman lookalike prick!
Re: Hughes
There are a large number of managers who just can't praise an opponent and Hughes is one of them. Out of the current PL managers i like Conte, Pochettino, Koeman and amazingly Pulis. Klopp is ok. These are the only ones who come out and give an honest assessment most of the time.
Listening to Koeman and Mourinho last night was chalk and cheese. One was respectful of the other club even though he was clearly disappointed at losing a lead in the last minute. The other should have been the happier of the two yet he came across as an arrogant prick again. It's getting boring listening to Jose at the moment. His comments are so wide of the mark it's laughable.

First thing he did at the final whistle was to walk in the pitch and speak to Barnes. Interesting to know the details of that conversation.

I would suspect that he appreciated what Barnes did in such a short time.

I wouldn't worry about that line of argument too much, it's basically saying if their players were better than they actually are they'd have beaten us.minnieclaret wrote:As posted above. If Arnautovich had worn his boots on the correct feet we were toast by HT.
Doesn't really mean a lot does it.
