Hull looked good last night

Post by CaptJohn » Thu Apr 06, 2017 11:21 am

I watched the whole game and even after going down to an early goal they just tore Boro to pieces with their pace and power. Grosicki looks very good so we may have missed out there. They are playing really attractive football and I doubt they will be going down if they carry on like that :(

Watched it as well.
Boro are normally pretty mean at the back, but Hull opened them up time and again last night.
Think Hull will survive. They've a few winnable games left.
Had thought 37 points would keep us up but, am revising that now. Another win, hopefully on Saturday, and I'll be feeling much happier.
Spammers fans ought to be feeling a bit nervy, too!
Wonder if they'll need a win at the Turf last game. ;)

I'd be worried if I was a Palace fan as they have a horrendous run in

They (Hull) have struggled away from home (like us). Let's hope they continue to struggle away (unlike us).

It's not. there's whole bunch in that scrap, including us. I tend to think Wet Spam will avoid it and probably be safe well before they visit us as they've had some tough games recently, but actually have a good enough side to halt the slide against the also rans. (I'd suggest?)

However at home Hull have Sunderland & Watford who they should beat, plus Spurs on the last day who will probably have nothing to play for.

All the teams below us have to play Sunderland except Palace so add three points to their present total.

Swansea play Everton Stoke and WBA at home three more teams with nothing to play for .

Palace have a tough run in but they beat Chelsea away

West Ham look vulnerable but could pick up six points in the next two games vs Swansea at home and Sunderland away. Fail to win those and they could sink but they do have four home games.

I think we need four more points minimum possibly five.

Three on Saturday would be very nice.

I think swansea will beat them...west ham and palace have some tough fixtures, and west ham have totally lost their way and bilic the belief.

A number of teams appear to have totally lost their way at various stages, only for them to find it again. (Not Sunderland of course!)

Boro were awful at the back though last night. they pushed forward more and got exposed - they've not won for four months. worst side in the division at the moment

I liked the look of Maguire and Robertson from Hull.

Robertson gets down the line well and has a good cross on him.

Recent form which (last 10games where we have played 4home 6 away) got us 9pts, Sland 5pts, Boro 4pts Swansea 13 Hull 14 Palace 15pts WHU 8pts Bournemouth 10pts Stoke 9pts Leicester and Watford 15 Soton 14
Looks like Sunderland and Boro down WHU us or Stoke for the third spot just based on the last 10 games.Hopefully Stoke will stay up by getting pts off Hull Swansea and WHU

With a 7 point gap between us and Swansea, and even the gap with hull,I don't think their recent form would put them above us using your stats

Just posted re present form and how the two teams presently in places 18 and 17 are doing compared with the rest on the brink of safety but who could tumble if they hit a bad patch. Hull and Swansea could be heading for 40pts and 37pts

Ah, read as though hull and Swansea were out of danger.

I'd throw Palace into your three given their run in so that makes 6 for just one spot. We'll be reyt

I must say I've been very impressed with Marco Silva, I'd never heard of him before he got given the gig but he's definitely made them competitive. Glad he's also made Paul Merson look like a right mug given his arrogant 'why've they appointed this bloke? I could win the league with Olympiakos' schtick.

Looks like Palace for me, assuming beating Chelsea was a one-off
