I don't think they do. Most remainers understand that the referendum was mainly an exercise in seeing off the right-wing Eurosceptic element of the Tory party, who were allying themselves to UKIP.
Cameron fully expected to win, and to put the issue to bed.
Unfortunately for him, most of the Tory constituencies in the Home Counties turned out to be Euro sceptic.
Polls suggest that about 65% of Labour voters voted remain, including the major cities of the north.
Many northern towns had a leave majority, but this was mainly due with an alliance of Euro-sceptic Tories and disenchanted Labour voters along with UKIPers.
Possibly one of the problems is that a tiny minority of northerners - who voted leave- do seem to be amongst the most angry winners.

I did, but nothing you later said contradicted, or added context to the part i quoted. If you're going to use suggestion to accuse me of stripping context from what you've said at least do me the courtesy of being right.

Ah, so you're a hard remainer and nothing anyone says other than 'we should remain' is the right thing to say in your book. Okay. I just can't be bothered dragging up the articles and many social media posts elsewhere claiming the northern, uneducated racist bit. Not now it's all been confirmed. I'd only be pandering to your emotions on the results not going 'your' way,

It's been voted on. We've given notice. Get over it.

"can't be bothered" isn't a good enough excuse for resorting to accusing "the remainers" of something based on the opinion of one idiot in Leeds.

And now you're resorting to the "get over it" line. I want to give you credit for using it ironically to satirise the idiots who use it, but i'm not sure that's what you're doing.

I don't crave any credit for it, so don't worry. You do appear to want to argue about something which is done and dusted though, so I think the "get over it" line is relevant here.

IT, do you really need everything linking on here when you already know its out there?

Its going to be a bit tiresome if you do, although you seem to revel in it sometimes.

Yes people do need to start getting over it, its a done deal, and yes people will keep saying it until the people who're complaining about it the loudest start getting quieter.

That sounds a lot like trying to silence any opposition, Sidney1st. Is this the kind of democracy leavers were voting for?

Why should people be quiet about it?

I didn't ask him for a link to anything. I don't know why he's brought it up. He's the one that made a claim and then used one guy in Leeds to back it up. I chose to mock this line of "thinking".

If you'd like to talk about things that are getting tiresome how about we talk about the seemingly endless stream of morons who think that because one guy in Leeds called Brexiteers idiots that it means all remainers think like that. And of course, when i say "endless stream of morons" i mean just one guy on a forum.

Exactly, Sid. I gave one example of a broader opinion base purely to liven up a boring post a little, which I clearly alluded in my response to him that he then conveniently missed, but IT wants the words of every single remainer. Hahahaha. Sad act.

Pssst, I won't tell anyone you're struggling with the outcome, IT, so don't worry, your secret is safe with me. ;)

Anyway, let's hope over half the population we're right, although it will take a good few years to really find out. Knee jerk reactions are not needed and have no credibility right now. Let's hope this great country of ours drives forward and flourishes.

Not at all. I just want to make fun of you for saying something dumb. :D

I know (or at least i'm pretty sure) you don't think all remainers think brexiters are stupid. In fact I think you know it is a vanishingly small percentage of remainers that believe that, but that it is blown out of all proportion by whining Brexiters who can't come up with a better argument to make supporting their stupid vote. But acknowledging that, especially when you've suggested an opinion to the contrary, isn't as much fun.

You're more then welcome to carry on complaining about the result of a democratic vote, that's your right in this country.

You'll just need to get used to being told to get over it

At some point you'll probably end up doing so.

Ah.
Hmmmm again more baffling crap coming from you. You accused me as being uneducated and sampled me as being a typical person voting to leave Europe. God you are a clique.

IT why do come on here to talk politics? You have stated before you go on political sites and don't join in any other topics on here.
You obviously think you're above everyone on here in these debates so why not stick to the political sites?

Your spouting on here could turn a left of centre into a right winger in no time.

IT seems particularly on one in this thread. Can't even really work out why, it's a nothing special topic with nothing special content. Just a man doing what he's been doing for 20 years making arguments that have already been made 100 times over the last 12 months to a union that wasn't listening any way.

What's the big deal?

What's wrong with IT posting on these kinds of threads? At a guess I'd say this forum broadly reflects the way Burnley voted on Brexit with around two-thirds in favour and I think IT makes some very good arguments for the remain side. In my opinion it'd be a poorer debate without him, although I appreciate he gets under the Brexiters skin.

My point is 99% of us are Burnley fans who debate on football matters and everything in general. IT just does politics, like some accuse the Blue Labrador of just turning up for conspiracy theories.
IT thinks he is a star player going against u12s in political debate on here instead of staying on his other political forums.

What other political forums? And when did you become commissioner of the thought police that tells people they can only post on here if they post enough times in football related threads?
