Will we have a new manager next season?
I fancy SD's love affair with this club may nearly have run its course, and with the likelihood of major departures in the offing, perhaps it is time for him to leap ships and take up a new challenge.

Blimey, you're a barrel of laughs aren't you?
Will we sign anybody? Will we have a new manager?
We are enjoying the most productive season for an awful long time, and you are doom-mongering again.
In my defence, I hadn't noticed who the OP was before I clicked on it, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
The next challenge's are rebuilding the squad, avoiding 2nd season syndrome and improving on our final league position.
Side missions should he choose to accept are make a decent effort in the cups, but these are optional.
Boss level mission -play a style of football that keeps KRBFC happy.
Infinite hard boss level - make it through a season without you posting on here with your helpful managerial tips (no manager has yet to take this challenge up, they know its too difficult)

Ex Ipswich and Man United striker, Alan Brazil would be my choice.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
Are there still challenges for Sean at Burnley? Yes
Does he still have the respect of fans, players and owners? Yes
Is another Club coming after Sean? Dunno
Do we have substantial money to invest in attracting new quality players? We should and have especially if Keane moves on.
Do I want Sean to move on? No

I'm not sure we'd be able to attract someone of that caliber. Wages would also be an issue.Diesel wrote:Ex Ipswitch and Man United striker, Alan Brazil would be my choice.

Are you trying to replace Saxo.
Far too many stupid threads this weekend.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
I think you'll need to give us a bit more information, ablue. For example, I reckon that if the Barcelona job comes up and Dyche is offered it, we would find that he doesn't live Burnley enough to turn it down. On the other hand, if John Coleman beats him to the Barcelona job and the only job available is to manage Accrington Stanley, we may find that his love affair with Burnley continues.ablueclaret wrote:I fancy SD's love affair with this club may nearly have run its course, and with the likelihood of major departures in the offing, perhaps it is time for him to leap ships and take up a new challenge.
Sorry, that's a bit tongue in cheek. Obviously you couldn't be daft enough to be asking about who might offer him a job in summer. Presumably what you're really asking is, will he be sick og the whole management game and just walk away? Well, the answer is no. Hope that helps.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
Jesus, I felt quite good about the fact we'll probably avoid relegation. Now I'm ready to cut my wrists. SD, Keane, Gray, Heaton, Boyd and Arfield all leaving and no new signings for next season.
At least the club will have plenty of money in the bank despite a managerless club with half a squad.

You forgot to mention that our home form will collapse and the away from won't get any better. You're too optimistic, that's your trouble.Firthy wrote:I felt quite good about the fact we'll probably avoid relegation. Now I'm ready to cut my wrists. Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
Not much of a chance I would have thought, he's still learning and hasn't forgotten his Watford experience, will have to be a real offer with all the right boxes ticked as far as Dyche is concerned.. and don't forget if and when he does go his back room team will have an input on the decision as well.ablueclaret wrote:I fancy SD's love affair with this club may nearly have run its course, and with the likelihood of major departures in the offing, perhaps it is time for him to leap ships and take up a new challenge.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
Earlier this season I thought it was definitely his last season at the club. I've now changed my mind and the way he speaks, I think he'll be here next season. However, I think this is a stepping stone for both parties. For Dyche, to move to perhaps a bigger club, and for us to bring in someone to take us to the next level.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
The only reason for him to stay is to experiment with a new style, to develop his methods, but with so many players likely to leave and a void opening up on front of him it would be the ideal time to seek pasture new.
Strangely this might not even be in the Premier League.
SD is one for building I fancy he might like to take another club up from the Championship.
We will see. About SD's future I have to admit I've generally been wrong.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
No it isn't the only reason he will stay, you're almost desperate for him to go.
All the changes present a new challenge, but you've decided on his behalf that he doesn't want to face these new challenges or they don't exist.
This is why I asked you yesterday how many posts you had lined up.
I think you're on about half a dozen now.

What a load of rubbish. No offence.ablueclaret wrote:The only reason for him to stay is to experiment with a new style, to develop his methods, but with so many players likely to leave and a void opening up on front of him it would be the ideal time to seek pasture new.
Other Reasons for him to stay:
1. He likes being a football manager.
2. He gets paid a lot of money.
Obviously he would leave if a job he likes better comes along. That's true of basically everybody.
Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
hopefully we'll have a new man in asap so we can plan for next year. I don't think it will happen though because only our fans would accept that dross anti football, no other club above us would want him.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
I'm sure he's astute enough to realise that he won't take this club much further, and that the pundits require him to prove himself elsewhere if he is to move up a notch on the managers ladder.
As I say I think he might surprise us by taking on a club like Derby and building a Premier League Outfit again.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
Do I want him to go? I have put forward that thread a month or two ago because I could see him retreating into the box, but I personally think he has room for development and he could do it here, but with all the likely changes at the end of the season I fancy he would feel the need to re-trench, and that way is not a development way for him.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
He's mentioned the training ground and that he has a say in what goes on behind the scenes. That for me says a lot that he's said that. It comes across to me that he's happy that the club allow him to have a say in what goes on and isn't just a manager. He's thinking longer term.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
We tend to forget that even then there were magical moments and a great deal of fun and heartache, it's always been fun following this club whichever League we have been in. Some forget that
Having witnessed over 50 years of Claret football I often think the time I enjoyed most was when Trevor Steven was here, not a great side but some magical football.

Can you point to a single home game that's been dross anti football, as you put it, this season?KRBFC wrote:hopefully we'll have a new man in asap so we can plan for next year. I can only think you are talking about Sunderland.

Re: Will we have a new manager next season?
Right now I think SD would want to stay a while longer. He's been instrumental in the upgrading of our training facilities, and would surely like to see the fruits of that.
