Nelson FC

Post by Wexford_Claret » Wed Apr 12, 2017 2:24 pm

What with me dear old Gran having been from Nelson, I do take a look at how they're getting now and then-not doing great this season! Do any regular attendees of Admirals games post on here? I see they've got a big derby match against Padiham next Monday at 3pm. Is anyone going on? Do they still do that deal for Claret season ticket holders?

I remember when Wilf Singleton was Chairman way back in the day. I used to do a bit of fund raising for them and was there when Alan Ball snr had his heart attack during a charity game.

Isn't Colne the big derby. There's some Youtube highlights of them playing Colne. And others.

Got a soft spot for Nelson FC.

I recommended a young local lad to them who was a real talent - they offered him a brilliant spot with the club for his age but he chose having a girlfriend and a few beers/joints instead.

Massive waste of talent - even more so when Inspoke to some of their staff about it and how much they had tried to bend over backwards to give the boy a chance.
