Agree with this, we underestimate the quality we have. But it's because of Dyche we have that quality and will almost certainly stay up.

We ought to aim to add more quality and finesse next season, but its a fool with a childs view of football who wants it all and wants it now.

Why does our next manager have to take us in the opposite direction? I don't think Dyche is cut out for the PL.

One PL relegation and a PL survival. I don't think its moronic to suggest a manager who hasn't won an away game all season is out of his depth.

I do. Haven't you grasped it yet? HOME GAMES COUNT AS WELL. I think it's moronic to make any decision based on only half the information available. Ignoring all the home games, which is where virtually all clubs get the majority of their points anyway, is an utterly stupid way to assess a manager.

I suppose Burnley FC could take the Watford approach, basically employ managers for immediate short-term improvement. I don't think many of us would be in favour of this, and i can't see how it works long-term.

But a manager who never changes the plot when the one he has doesn't work really needs to address that problem.
I'm not suggesting SD isn't a good manager but he is a terribly frustrating one and pretending the equivalent of one win away from home all year is fine is just pure stupidity.

Same problem as KR - you ignore the games that we won so you can complain about the ones we lose. HOME GAMES COUNT AS WELL. You can go on, say, Middlesbrough's website and count the number of people who are proud that they have more away wins than Burnley. Clue - you could count them on the toes of one hand.

He selected a different team today didn't he?

On what basis has the 'plot' that SD has not worked? We're practically safe with an abundance of games to go.

Of course it would have been nice to have collected more points away from home. But in reality it's no different than having a poor record against teams from the south and a very good record against teams from the north. The league position is what matters and on that basis SD has had a very successful season.

He's limited with the playing staff he has available. Today we lost against a team that is far better than us. Where's the shame in that? Incidentally SD also oversaw a win against that same superior side in the reverse fixture.

We scored in the last minute mate to record that win though in some of our supports eyes that's a raggy home win like five or six of our other home wins, really despair sometimes about our support,we have always been shite away from home get fecking over it boys!

We were favourites for relegation for a reason. Our players aren't of the standard of other PL sides, particularly our strikers. What we do have is a team structure and work ethic, instilled by SD, that has so far garnered 36 points. I'm not bothered how or where they come from as long as they keep coming.
The only priority this season was stay up. This is very close to being achieved. Next season players will come and players will go but SD has improved year on year and so will his side.

Those who cannot see that SD has retreated into the framework are closing their eyes to reality.
One can appreciate that most fans think he has done a fabulous job to keep us up, but to fail to question why he cannot set up a side to have a chance of winning away from home is gullibility of the highest order.
There were sychophants a plenty under OC there are even more under SD.

He's sticking to his system, framework, set up , whatever you want to call it because its working to a degree.

You can come up with as many different words or phrases as you like to tell us all the same thing over and over.

Ultimately he's near enough kept us in the PL for longer then a season and that's all that matters this season.

Will he change it for next season?
We will have to wait and see.

Will people be annoyed if we go another season with no away wins, but stay up again?
Yes but it will be tempered by staying up.

If we have a mixture of home and away wins, no ones going to cry to hard apart from the usual suspects.
Until we play a slicker, higher tempo passing game some people are just going to whine every week.
I'm fairly certain some people would like to see us get relegated with OC/Howe style football.

What's going to be your next choice of word or phrase to tell us all you want Tarks in the middle or for Dyche to experiment?

I've just looked at this silly thread and thought Ok, I can see the negativity accusation against the bottom teams, but the top teams away from home we have gone toe to toe with. How many sides have we taken the lead against recently (Spurs, Liverpool etc)? How many others have we narrowly missed out against (Arsenal, Swansea etc).

No, I get it against a few of the lower sides but this looks like having a post written before the match has even kicked off.

Neither come close to a textbook Rowls performance such as last night.
