Josh king

Post by Longsidejono » Sun Apr 16, 2017 10:19 pm

In top 10 goal scorers for the season with 13 in league, not a striker as such that's a good return in a poor Bournemouth side this season, could be in the 10-15mill mark might be worth a shout

He's been superb, Bournemouth had a tough run of luck with injuries, you wonder If King would have had the opportunity to shine If Callum Wilson had remained fit. I'm sure Eddie is thrilled he's stepped up to fill the role.

Yeah they will and he has done a good job and with a better defence would be dangerous, they have conceded a lot of goals and brought in quality and have gone backwards from last season so king has done well

No chance of signing him though

An excellent free transfer signing by howe. King was hardly getting a sniff at rovers, despite his obvious potential and howe had him looking like a different player before long.
We could do with that kind of signing, not sure how many players currently plying their trade in the championship who could make the step up. A different type of course but PNE fans seem quite enamoured with mcgeady at present.

Would love to have King in our team and if we can't get him which is more than likely
as can't see Eddie wanting him to leave, even for 15m+ nor could we probably match his wages
as I suspect Bournemouth pay more than we do.
However, he's exactly the sort of player we should go for as he looks capable of operating anywhere across
the front line, can beat a player, is strong and with pace and knows where the goal is.

If Dyche could unearth someone similar (or better?) then I'd be more than happy.

Would quite like to see King and Gray up front for us.

Could be the good combination to help us score more goals and
next season (assuming we stay up) we will need to score a lot more goals
if we are to continue our progress and wish to stay up for a second season.

Without more goals we will struggle so, for me, it's the absolute number one objective.

Howe can certainly spot a good striker

Austin, Ings, King, Wilson - just wish SD could do the same 8-)

Was listening to Kevin Kilbane talk about McGeady during the Huddersfield v Preston game on Friday. Says he is enjoying his football again and it was showing. Said he just wanted to feel 'wanted'. He did say, he thought his wages could be a stumbling block, even if Preston did get promoted but he was just happy to be enjoying his football again.
Whether he could step up again to the Premier League remains to be seen.

What you talking about ?
Noble, Jutkiewicz, Sordell, Vossen, Hennings. Some cracking signings there, they were just unlucky.
Remember Eddie Howe signed that hopeless winger for us on the strength of YouTube videos.

Financially maybe....

In a football sense, it's not all about attacking. I would argue we're not a wonderful side and may well finish below them in the end...but they are beneath us as I type!

Mentioned him as an ideal type of signing on the other thread. Technically very good and can play deep as a link-man or in a 4-4-2 whilst being a pretty potent goal scorer. Obviously King himself will now be out of reach but he's the type of player I'd like us to be looking for.

Eddie Howe could certainly spot a good striker(though anyone who couldn't spot the goal scoring ability of Austin was obviously blind), but let us not forget that it was Dyche who changed two of Eddie's signings(Vokes and Ings) from non-scoring duds into a lethal Championship strike force with 40+ goals between them in a promotion season.

Plus Dyche signed Championship player of the year Gray last season too of course

A poor mans Andre Gray. Andre would be scoring goals for fun in that Bournemouth side.
