Footie podcasts

Post by claretwardy88 » Fri Apr 21, 2017 6:00 pm

Just started getting into podcasts, my favourite football one by far is the magic sponge with jimmy bullard. Proper football stories, glen little one was hilarious with his Stan impression, if anyone hasn't listened then it's definitely worth it! Football ramble not bad either

Was going to say Football Ramble before got to your last sentence.

5 live football daily has some good discussions & SD been on a few times but with being daily don't get chance to listen to them all

NoNayNever is ok for a Burnley view

Eat Sleep Football wasn't bad when they did them but no new ones

Magic sponge has a footie guest on each week and it's stories from them, absolutely hilarious, pranks they've played on teammates ect. I recommend the latest one with Tony Warner, the glen little one and the mark halsey one lemme know what you make of it

Cricketfield I downloaded free podcast app from play store called cast box. Found it to be well set out with popular, categories ect. Can subscribe from there so every time a new episode releases it will give you a notification. Lemme know your thoughts!

I love podcasts.

Guardian Football Weekly is the best, followed fairly closely by 5 Live's World Football Phone-In. Haven't missed an episode of either for a long time.

The BBC World Service have a podcast usually presented by Alan Green simply called World Football. This and the World Football Phone-In have taught me a lot about football - but also about geography and global politics and the like. I'd definitely recommend them.

The Magic Sponge is very good. Listened to every episode at least twice.

Others I listen to regularly are -
The Football Writers Podcast. (Takes itself way too seriously though and rarely covers anything other than the top four.)
Talking Fussball - The Bundesliga Show.
Total MLS Show.
And occasionally the podcast version of the Sunday Supplement on Sky Sports.

Someone on another thread has mentioned Athletico Mince - the podcast by Bob Mortimer and Andy Dawson which is very loosely football based. It's worth listening to. It started off brilliantly and Bob Mortimer is genuinely hilarious but I haven't listened for ages. I don't think there's been an episode for a while anyway - they're focussing on a live version I think.

Podcasts are great. There's something for everyone, every hobby, every interest. Dig in! There's lots to explore!

As I posted on another thread, Athletico Mince with Bob Mortimer. Only nominally about football, but it is occasionally brilliant, gangs of the epl being a highlight. Here's a wee clip:

I quite enjoy the Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong Guy, nice easy listening but sometimes very funny
