L'pool v Palace

Post by Goddy » Sun Apr 23, 2017 5:00 pm

Can you believe it?? Scousers winning 1-0???

It's unbelievable (Jeff) that teams like Liverpool and Man U can be winning against teams like Palace and Burnley, respectively. Who'da thought?

Anyhow, there you have it.....maybe they (L'pool) can hold on and do us a favour...........?????

Reminded me a bit of Brady's FK against Chelsea.

If Palace equalise, just watch the panicking on here.   :D

Man United beat Burnley without the home side having a single shot on target.

Not the case with Crystal Palace who are at least giving it a real go and are playing with some real conviction.

To be fair, we did the same against Everton last week and created a few good chances.

Palace have got about £75m of attacking talent though.

It might be a good thing for us if Palace win this and they're safe. Might make it slightly easier when we play them.

Hope you're right! It's 2-1 Palace!! :o

Despite my sarcastic op, I still think anyone who expected us to get much from Man U today (even a weakened team) was optimistic.

Anyhow, as you say, Frank, 3 points today and maybe one on Wednesday for Palace and they'll be on their hols next Sat.....

1 from Burnley, Hull and Swansea to go down. But as we've been doing almost every weekend for the past few weeks - we'll be relying on other teams to do us a favour.

I think anyone who thought we couldn't get something were pessimistic. Anyone can beat anyone at home, even more so us.

United won't have or get an easier 3 points away from home all season. They did their homework ( easily done) and De Gea never had to make a save.

I think Swansea will fall just short of catching us, but the other teams around us do seem to be raising their game of recent times whereas we haven't surprised anyone of late. It would be a travesty if we do go down but while its possible I'll remain concerned.

It's not going to be pretty at Palace.

I would expect to see 4-5-1, with Brady and JBG to break with a bit of pace on the counter, and an extra body in the middle to firm it up.

We'll need to be up for this, or it could be a bit of a mauling.

No. Liverpool are terrible. Worse than when we played them. Here have 2 goals. And created less than we did earlier

That would be common sense as it would have been today, we'll play 4-4-2 next week and get battered

First you need players with the quality of Zaha, Puncheon, Townsend then a proven PL finisher like Benteke.

Thier not of Untied's caliber but still a step up from what we've got.

But arnt the Palace players an inferior quality to the Liverpool ones? They took the game to Liverpool and it paid off. All we do, EVERY GAME, is set up not to lose.

FactualFrank suggests in an earlier post that Crystal Palace could now take their foot of the gas when they play us next weekend.

Palace could also do the same when they entertain Hull. :x

Liverpool have either drawn or lost to 7 of the bottom 9 clubs.

Is it any surprise they lost today?

If Palace having 28%possession is taking the game to Liverpool then you watch different football to me.

If we're going on about stats, how about the 7 shots they had, 3 of which were on target, and 2 resulted in goals.
