If we get one more point, and Swansea or Hull lose a game, then we stay up.....

If Swansea don't win their next game then we stay up regardless.

I think we'll win two out of the last three. Relegation worries are for lesser teams.

Re: Basics...
We should be striving for a top half finish. It's quite possible. Midtable Burnley has a nice ring to it. For now.

Re: Basics...
If Swansea don't win ALL their remaining games we are probably safe. If we take just TWO points from our 3 remaining games we are probably safe (+15 better goal difference).
If we take 3 points, by whatever means, or Swansea lose 1 game then we are mathematically safe.
I think we will take 7 points from the last 3 games now the pressure is, mostly, off. WBA went on holiday several weeks ago, Bournemouth are erratic and West Ham are just crap.

If they manage to overturn a -15 goal difference without winning all their games then tbh they deserve to stay up on those games aloneSpijed wrote:If they don't win ALL their games we ARE SAFE unless they overturn a -15 goal difference

Back in March I posted that we would be mathematically "certain to be in Premier League next season" after the Palace game (this was before tv schedule was announced, so included the full round of games over the w/end).Clarets4me wrote:If we get one more point, and Swansea or Hull lose a game, then we stay up.....

Sorry, I got this wrong - but only by 1 place, neither Sland or M'boro can catch Burnley.
There was no bet. No promise not to post again if I was wrong. Just one happy Burnley fan already looking forward to a second season (consecutive) in the Premier League. (When are fixtures announced for 2017/18)?

I'm not a "mean guy." I don't celebrate when others are experiencing hard times. I remember when we had to "grin and bear it." But, I had to laugh at that.bfcmik wrote:Hopefully just after we get to laugh at next seasons League 1 fixture list with the mighty B*****d Rovers involved!

They are. In fact, they're far too great a quality to waste on Blackburn Rovers.tim_noone wrote:Humility and empathy are great qualities in a person.

Actually, they're so bad it's unfair to take it out of the Blackburn fans. We have two at our office, and you can't wind them up. No matter what I say about had bad they are doing, they just nod and agree. I even find myself trying to cheer them up - how bad is that!
(Mind you, my way of cheering them up is to tell them that the ground is owned by some sort of trust, so if they go bankrupt they can re-form but will still have a ground to play on. In the North West Counties second division. As a way of cheering them up, it doesn't work!
