Re: Transfer budget this summer
Regarding Martin Kelly - I must admit I'm surprised he's 6"3 - but in any event, my impression has always been he's a full back who can play centre back, rather than the other way round, and he defended like that the other day when he was pretty suspect in the air.
I'd hope we'd be looking for pacey, powerful defenders to replace Flanagan, Keane and Darikwa (who realistically can be expected to move on this summer) to supplement the steady, reliable core that Lowton, Tarks, Mee and Ward give us. Apart from anything else, Dyche has proved with Keane that he can take the raw materials of an athlete and turn them into a very fine defender and I thikn that's probably the best route for us to produce really top class defenders. I don't have a particular candidate in mind, but they do exist - for example, Liam Moore is in that mould and has had a really good season at Reading.
I don't know if our chance with Robertson has gone - he was being linked with big clubs before we appeared to move into pole position in January, and you'd be surprised if we didn't renew our interest in the summer. I suppose its possible that the owners will seek to extract a bigger fee mind. I think the greater question with Robertson is whether he's really the right signing - he'll expect to come to somewhere like Burnley and be first choice, but Ward has been so good in the second half of the season that it seems to be a bit ruthless to get rid of him. There's an argument that we ought to be ruthless like that, but it does send a potentially negative message to other players that they may not get the chance to grow with the club. Someone like Taylor, who may be more willing to come in as a back up initially, may therefore be a better fit.

If we want aerial strength Marc Roberts will be an option especially with him previously being linked.

Might be too expensive in fees and wages but N'Dong from Sunderland might be worth a look.

While I don't tend to get involved in wish lists myself. Several of the names being mentioned above are drawing interest from other premier Clubs already in rumour circles, while this may not mean they are "out of our range" it would suggest that agents are already clicking on their calculators and that is not a good sign.

Andrew Robertson
Harry Maguire
Tom Cairney
Dale Stephens
Sam Clucas
A bit left field but i watched Rovers on Saturday and Sam Gallagher had something about him and at 21 has plenty of time to improve.

Would prefer a striker to come from abroad or lower leagues. There's no value in signing a high profile or PL striker

People can say never go back, he's injury prone, has he got over it, his knees are knackered etc etc...but I would sign Danny Ings without even thinking about it.
Call me a maniac, but I think he would come back too.

Grosicki will be cheap but we will find it hard trying to track him on National Express on the M1.
