Yes, and reasonably quickly.

A year in League 1, a couple in Year 2, and then liquidation. Then start up as FC Blackburn (and lose the Rovers) in the 8th tier on a ground share with Accy.

I have a mate who's a Halifax fan and he enjoys it just as much as always. FC Halifax have a play-off this weekend and the fans are all still there.

The benefit of this route for Blackburn is that they would retain their true fans (2,500 or so) and the whole sorry tale of the first club to be grotesquely bankrolled to success would be consigned to ancient history.

It is prophesied in the third verse of No Nay Never that Rovers shall go bust.

Yes, lingeringly, in stages, so each stage is predictable and obvious and can be seen a season or two in advance but there's absolutely nothing they can do to prevent it.

To that end, in fact, I'm not even that bothered if they don't go down this season as I'm fairly sure they'd become next season's Rotherham, games being played in an increasingly apathetic, echoing stadium, infrastructure slowly decaying and rotting around them...

I don't want them to go bust purely because of the small percentage of decent supporters they have. The ones who were there long before Jack Walker and will remain with them long after the Venkys. They don't deserve what's happening to the club. Having said that, once the club is back where it was before they bought the title, their true fans will most likely accept it and move on once the Venkys leave. I know Man City fans who are waiting for their success to blow up in their faces. I suspect many Rovers fans felt that way 15-20 years ago. They came along for the ride but most likely understood it wasn't forever, just as I don't believe our PL status will last forever. You crack on though because you're a football fan. You take the rough with the smooth.

The glory hunters who jumped on the bandwagon in the last 20 years though... they can take a run and jump!! They deserve everything they get. I recall a Roverrrrs fan stating on their messageboard that no matter how bad things got, they'd never ever be as sh1t as Burnley. I'd love to have a chat with that guy now!! The sheer arrogance of those supporters was embarrassing and they're now reaping what they sowed. The fly by night, "I'll come and support you in the PL if my season ticket is no more than £100" brigade are almost as guilty at the Venkys for the down turn in their fortunes. They expected Premier League status as a given but without genuinely appreciating it and that's both ignorant and arrogant. Those guys can do one, they're morons. If the club goes bust I won't lose sleep for those idiots!!

I worked in great Harwood around the time of the orient game. There were plenty of Blackburn fans.

Believe me. They wanted us to go under.

What goes around comes around.

Let the Cheque Book Champions of 1994/5, rot.

Part of the fun of being a football fan is having a main rival so I'd never want them to disappear, but to be in League 2 near the bottom.

Not forever, just for 50 years or so.

Bust, we wont be playing them again anytime soon so time to move on to bigger and better rivals. As intimated on some previous posts they were desperate for us to go out of the league, so let they go and reform called Blackburn Walker or something and play on Witton. I am sure the local chicken vindaloo shop will pay for a shirt advert. All they ever wanted was another billionaire to buy some more dreams boo hoo.

No football club should go bust. The supporters are the ones robbed of their history, not the owners.

BRovers are a founder club, just like us. They belong....somewhere.

And another thing.....we would be bereft of songs to sing!

I want it to start this Sunday, But I want the pain intensifying.

I want them to win 7-0 at Brentford but then I want Birmingham to win 1-0 at Brizzle with a deflection of Jukes arse whilst 2 yards offside in the 95th minute.

All this is happening just as in the 95th minute at the City Ground Assombolonga takes a swallow dive in the Penalty area with nobody within 6 feet of him against Ipswich reserves but the ref immediately points to the spot. Then the penalty is taken by Florist it hits the bar then both posts rebounds out hits the goalie on the back of the head and trickles over the line 1-0 whistle goes.

I then want history to repeat itself in the League One relegation battle next season involving the Bastards Bury and Doncaster.

A trajectory like Coventry's would be nice.

Never reaching 70 points ever again. A slow and boring slide through League One into League Two. Ten years in the fourth tier never reaching the playoffs.

Then, come 2040, they sign a raft of loan players from the big clubs in the Premier League, such as Manchester United, Tottenham and Burnley. They're top at Christmas, but injury crises at United, Spurs and the Clarets force the recall of the loan players. Their huge Boxing Day clash against AFC Fylde gives them a chance to pull clear at the top, but a depleted and demoralised team is hammered 5-0 at home (pitch 4 at Pleasington). Rovers go on to lose all remaining games and are relegated to the fifth tier, to play against teams such as Carshalton Athletic, Shaw Lane Aquaforce and Euxton Villa. The crowd of 36 storms the pitch, led by local hardman Knocker, and proceeds to vandalise the pitch, breaking the crossbars and throwing the cornerflags into the river.

Unable to afford a new kit, netting, and with just 8 players willing to pay their £20 signing on fee, Blackburn Rovers Football Club folds, leaving a space vacant in the Conference. The losing playoff finalists in the Conference North are granted their place, and so Stockport County's phoenix-like rise begins.

I wouldn't want to see Rovers go bust.

Some of my mates are Rovers fans, I enjoy the banter and the discussion about our respective clubs. The on-the-field stuff is great fun to watch, however the uncertainty of the clubs future isn't.

I wouldn't like it to happen to me because supporting a football club is a big part of my life. I'll be very sad if it was taken away, I wouldn't want that to happen to any of my friends even if they do support Blackburn.

I find it slightly abhorrent that people would want rovers to fold. They are founding members of the football league, and like it or not steeped in history. Part of that history is a rivalry with their closest and superior neighbours, and finally getting one over them just a few years ago was one of my finest memories as a claret. Why would I want that rivalry to disappear? I don't want it to be a story of yesteryear to my grandkids, I want them to experience ot too. There's so much to dislike about football, and rovers I definitely do dislike. But not to the extent that it eclipses century plus year old clubs being run into the ground by people who couldn't care less about football, and more to the point the community that cares about it.

I wish them everything they wished on us, I hope they hate the position they are in and that it hurts to even watch MOTD. I remember my feelings when the plane flew over the Turf with their message for us and yes I want them to suffer the pain for many, many years when I may review how I feel today UTC.

My preference would be to see them in non-league for at least a decade, having sold their training and youth facilities but still playing at a dilapidated and almost empty Ewood Park so they can't avoid the rotting carcass of their previous bought success.

Rovers fans seeing their kids imitate Vokes' goal against Liverpool, taking their kids to TM to see PL football etc.

From the Rovers Forum

"It makes me a bit sick to see how delighted they are with our plight. Then I remember that it's taken this absolute atrocity to put them above us in the rankings and it makes me happier knowing that, eventually, there will be a change and our rightful places will be restored.

And I'll be as equally delighted in the day their backward town is once again in its place. This is but a blip."

So it's a no from me. However, I would like the word "eventually" to be at least a century and the "blip" the status quo ante.
I enjoy our rivalry and tbh it doesn't compare with PNE, Bolton etc. nowhere near as intense.

Enjoy - it doesn't get much better than this. UTC.

You can ignore it all you want Saxo, but if Rovers disappear into the lower leagues for a good number of years the kids aren't going to grow up wanting a Rovers shirt to the same extent they did in the 90's and early 00's.

As much as I hate them (in a footballing sense), I wouldn't want them to completely disappear. I think its because we've been through it all, from top to rock bottom and slowly clawed our way back again, that we truly understand what its all about. Many bas turd fans don't understand this (the post 1990 gob sh ite bunch certainly don't). They simply cant believe 'the roverrrrrs' are heading to the 3turd division (well, check the history books boys, cos thats where you were in the 70's).

I would however, love to see them squirm around, without a pot to pi ss in, in the lower leagues for many decades to come. All those years of listening to them gloat on has finally turned full circle and has bitten them firmly on the ar se.

Haven't they all gone soooo quiet ?

I live and work on Blackburn and it's already happening. Once "die hard" Rogers fans going on the Turf. Kids who support Rovers at my lads school asking if they can go on with him. Kids who play for my lads team, where 90% of them used to turn up in Rovers shirts have now swapped to Liverpool, Man Utd and one even Burnley. The tide has well and truly turned, and the gap is now widening in our favour.

Eternity spent mid table in the fourth tier in front of an ever dwindling number of fans will do.

Yep I 100% want Bastards to go bust...!!!! Though I want it to be long and drawn out, dropping down the leagues losing all their assets...their shite hole ground, their training ground...everything! As our song says....I want them "playing on a piece of waste ground"

Then they can go bust! 8-)
